Beautiful year-round. If visiting in the summer, pack a picnic and head to the north entrance. A short (.5 to 1 mile) hike into the woods yields to several shaded private beach spots. Main entrance has a great playground, its just 10 minutes from the cabin!

Trailhead is 30 minutes from the cabin (just before Steven's pass). At 3 miles roundtrip and 1,100 elevation gain, it is a moderate hike that can be done with novice and younger hikers. Jump in the lake at the end for a refreshing interlude

if you're coming from Seattle and have time on either end of your trip, this neat little spot is awesome. They have a wide variety of reptiles in well-maintained habitats. Highly reccomend.
