This is my go to place for enchiladas. It is located on the plaza (about a 25 minute walk) and there's always things happening. The price is very affordable and you get plenty to eat. This is not an open air restaurant.

If you like ribs and brisket, the Smoke House is for you! It's only a 10 minute walk from the casita. The food is great and the service is always friendly. There's plenty of outdoor seating.

City/town information
Located on the largest lake in Mexico, Ajijic is nestled beautifully between the lake and the mountains. Walk the cobblestone streets to fully see the beauty of Ajijic's offerings. There are amazing painted murals, numerous shops and an abundance of restaurants to choose from. The plaza has a large art gallery that supports local talent, and the plaza is the hub for celebrations and local events.

If you want to indulge, head to Balneario Hot Springs in San Juan Cosala. There are 2 huge pools and several smaller pools that range from warm to hot hot hot! It's a great place to let go of travel fatigue and comfort stiff muscles.

The pelicans like to hang out by the lake, and there are many other bird species to watch as you stroll. This is about a 15 minute drive from the casita. El Rincon De Frida is a lovely restaurant to check out in Jocotepec, located on Independencia Sur 60, phone 387 763 2801.

El Rincon De Frida is a lovely restaurant to check out in Jocotepec, located on Independencia Sur 60, phone 387 763 2801.
Chapala is about a 10-15 minute drive from the casita depending on traffic. The malecon is beautiful and boat rides are offered by the pier. Restaurants and markets line the malecon and the Papantla Flyers are set up to dazzle you with the danza de los Voladores.
