Our favorite family friendly place to be!
This restaurant is one of our favorites. It has a beautiful view of the man made lake and the forests surrounding it. The food is locally sourced and amazing and the staff are very friendly and fun to visit with.

Neighborhoods
The Nelsonville square, in the center of Nelsonville, is a charming place to visit. They have worked hard to revitalize the town and it's community with fun shops and restaurants. There are a couple of art galleries, a quilt store, a restaurant that has live music, an Emporium that sells local artists wares. The Opera House offers seasonal shops and local happenings at different times throughout the year. The different owners and employees are very friendly and so fun to chat with! A fun place to stroll!

Nelsonville
The Nelsonville square, in the center of Nelsonville, is a charming place to visit. They have worked hard to revitalize the town and it's community with fun shops and restaurants. There are a couple of art galleries, a quilt store, a restaurant that has live music, an Emporium that sells local artists wares. The Opera House offers seasonal shops and local happenings at different times throughout the year. The different owners and employees are very friendly and so fun to chat with! A fun place to stroll!
City/town information
Athens is the home of Ohio University, and is a small classic college town. There are many happenings connected to the University throughout the year. There are many different shops and restaurants in the downtown area, but parking can be a bit of a challenge. Athens has quite a diverse community and restaurants reflecting the diversity. It also has an amazing farmers market which runs year round. Home grown produce is always offered, and once or twice a month other artist vendors are also there to share their talents and offer what they've created. One of my favorite Saturday morning activities! Children even enjoy it! The vendors seem to enjoy the children and often they're given free popcorn, an apple, free honey sticks and different snacks, which makes it fun for everyone!
