Sushi in a bowl. Build your own and pick everything you want, or choose from one of poke bros creations on the menu. Personally, we love places like this where we can choose from multiple options to create our own customized meal. We also like places we can grab and go quickly in case the place is crowded or we just want to take our food to a park to enjoy. We have gotten this and taken it to the park just around the corner. (The park right next to Corron Elementary school). The park has picnic benches, but we like taking our picnic blanket and sitting on the hillside (good spot at sunset). Right next door is also Chipotle Mexican Grill - another “build your own” style grab and go place if you aren’t wanting to eat in.

Portillo’s is extremely popular in the Chicagoland area. There is often a long line of cars around the building in their drive through. If it’s your first time we recommend going inside. It’s neon lights and retro decor give it a fun atmosphere. The most popular things to get here are the Italian beefs, hot dogs, and their famous cake shake (a slice of cake in your shake!). If none of that sounds great to you they have a pretty big menu with a lot of other great options. Within biking distance from the Burrow.

Nick’s pizza not only has good pizza, but a cozy rustic lodge-like environment. A large wood burning fire place is located at the center of the restaurant and the cozy lighting comes from large chandeliers made of antlers. There is a large patio area for outdoor dinning and the inside of the restaurant has a large loft overlooking the restaurant below. For appetizers we recommend their onion blossom and their beer nuggets. Our favorite pizza is the margarita pizza.

One of our favorite Mexican restaurants. Sammy’s is a small Mexican-American food place within biking distance from the Burrow. It’s an energetic often very busy place. It sometimes has live music. There is a large bar where you can order a drink while you wait for a table or your food.

This family owned tavern has been around for years and is one of our favorite places. This is where we go for comfort food. We recommend their “world famous” chicken fingers! Other great options on their menu (in our opinion) are the mom’s perfect pot roast, fish fry platter, Juanita wrap, and the nachorama (nachos)! While you wait for your food there are many sports themed artwork all around the tavern to enjoy as well as plenty of TVs.
