Homemade ice cream within walking distance from the house. Cash only. Be prepared for a long line, but it's worth the wait!
Pro-tip: Servings are huge. Order a kids small if you are not in the mood to eat a pint of ice cream in one sitting :)

Reasonably priced, delicious, homemade food. When everywhere else is busy or booked up, you can always grab a quick, but sizeable meal here. Have never been disappointed.

Food is delicious, but the cocktails are particularly good. Atmosphere is charming with firepit and outside seating. Also walking distance is convenient after all those cocktails :)

Spillers Farm Stand on Laudhold Farm Road is right across from the house and run by our neighbors Paige and Todd. Fresh veggies available from Spillers Farm and take some fresh picked flowers home with you before you head out! Stop here for veggies before dealing with the crowds at Hannafords or IGA.

The Carson Trail is an easy walk or drive from the house and is a peaceful, beautiful walk through some of Wells' best attributes - views of the ocean, estuary and lush pine tree forest that smells wonderful.

Perkins Cove area in Ogunquit is one of my favorite places to take visitors. There is so much to offer - views of lobster boats and craggy cliffs on the sea, shopping, food and sometimes they have live music playing in the little square. Great atmosphere and so much to do.

Beaches
Drakes Island is my favorite beach in Wells. It is a 1.7 mile walk from the house down Laudholm Farm Road and through the Wells Reserve, or a 2 mile drive. The only caveat to driving will be parking, but even on busy days, I've always been able to get in. If you are solo or travel light, walking is nice, but with a family loaded with lots of beach toys, I would recommend driving to one of the lots.

Drakes Island Beach
Drakes Island is my favorite beach in Wells. It is a 1.7 mile walk from the house down Laudholm Farm Road and through the Wells Reserve, or a 2 mile drive.
