Beaches
South Beach is the smaller and closer of the two main beaches in South Haven. The sand is warm and the water is perfect. There is some playground equipment which makes this beach popular for families.
This beach is the access point to walk out on the south pier to the lighthouse. Don't forget to bring your camera!
South Beach is 0.7 miles directly west of the loft.

North Beach is the larger of the two main beaches. This beach has beach volleyball and a snack shack. Grab some sun protection and hit the beach. The beach gives you access to the north pier, weather permitting.
To get to North Beach from the loft head north on Broadway and across the Black River bridge. Keep going straight until you get to a "T" in the road at North Shore Dr. Turn left and then in 1/8 mi look for signs for the beach on the right.

Kal-Haven Trail extends from South Haven to Kalamazoo. It once was a railroad but now serves as a fantastic hiking and biking trail. Go as far as you like, but remember to bring water and some calories.

Golden Brown Bakery has been in South Haven for many decades. The custard-filled and cream-filled long johns were my favorite when I was a kid. The also offer excellent cupcakes, fudge, cookies and coffee. Golden Brown Bakery also has a nice cafe if you are looking for breakfast.

I've been going to Sherman's Dairy for ice cream since I was 2. The goal was to eat as much Blue Moon ice cream as I could in a single sitting without making my mom uncomfortable.
Still, I make it a point to go every time I am in town.
