Neighborhoods

Clifton is one of the first “suburbs” of Cincinnati, located just north of downtown (3 miles) on a group of hills with scenic views of downtown and other neighborhoods. Homes date from 1860. Ours was built in 1911. There is a charming and handy business district 0.5 miles from our home that includes restaurants, coffee shops, full service grocery, movie theatre, inviting outdoor plaza & much more. A short drive of 2-3 miles takes you to several popular downtown areas, including historical Over the Rhine (OTR). There are 2 City Parks in walking or biking distance with hiking trails, outdoor events & scenic views. Clifton is adjacent to the University of Cincinnati and a number of hospitals, including the renowned Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Center. There are several nearby museums including the Cincinnati Art Museum and the much newer American Sign museum. Cincinnati is known for Cincinnati Red’s baseball, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens (walkable from our house & free to our guests), beer breweries, and the Ohio Riverfront with a dozen adjacent parks for walking, dining and many outdoor activities. We are proud of our arts & theatre offerings as well as many ethnic, noveau and classic dining spots. Visit our charming Gaslight District and enjoy your business or family functions, but leave a day or two to enjoy our village & our fine “Queen City.”

Revived neighborhood that once stood by the Ohio/Erie Canal which was named The Little Rhine by the predominantly German inhabitants. Now inhabited by restaurants, shops, bars, and an interesting nightlife. Washington Park & Cincinnati Music Hall are here. Tours of old brewery caves and other neighborhood features are available. Three of our most unique live theaters live here.
