These restaurants may not be your typical "top ten" on Austin tourist guides, but are places we love and frequent :). We hope you love them too!
Be prepared to get there early and to wait in line, but this is one of the best barbeque (and Tex Mex fusion) spots in town. They serve awesome breakfast tacos, which are a local favorite. Just know that barbeque is prepared daily and it's not unusual for them to run out of multiple menu items as the day progresses.

One of our favorite Tex Mex and interior Mexican food spots. It's understated but a hidden gem. We love their Avocado Margarita, Ceviche selection, and Cochinita Pibil!

We HIGHLY recommend the fried chicken on their happy hour menu, which is only about $7 and will easily suffice for a meal. There are also many other bars and restaurants in this area on Manor road.

We recently discovered this food trailer with the BEST wings in Austin. It's a food trailer and they don't offer any seating, so you'll want to get this as take out for a night in or to bring for a picnic ;).
