It’s the beach everyone raves about and billed as a great place for surfing, snorkelling, sailing and generally splashing around. so what’s the attraction? Well, the miles of really golden sand are probably a good start, plus the huge surf, the sand dunes etc. etc. Yes, it’s a pretty impressive place. Starting from the village, it’s easily accessible which is ideal if you’ve got young ones in tow and you could just plonk yourself on the sand close to the village, put down your beach towels and relax. The beach cafe, The Watering Hole, serves snacks and drinks throughout the main holiday seasons. If the tide’s right out, do the place justice and have a walk up the beach to Ligger Point, just a 2 mile jaunt away.
Because the beach is so huge, it almost feels as if you have the place to yourself and the fresh air off the ocean is exhilarating. Early morning you’ll probably see a few horses and their riders having a paddle in the surf and there’s a welcome cafe for a coffee stop halfway along. You can make the return journey (or if the tide’s in) over the extensive sand dunes which are teeming with wildlife taking pictures of butterflies and lizards.

Unravelling Trelissick’s history the world expert Dr Jo Esra has been working with research volunteers to rediscover the history of the property. Shining a light on our forgotten past they have unearthed many significant discoveries that we can explore further and share in the years to come.

There is a range of Trails (dirt courses), Jumps and Park obstacles that will suit every level of ability, ranging from our beginners to the technical and complex.
On-site, we have hot and cold refreshments, toilet facilities, FREE parking and a large barn to relax in. If you enjoy riding bikes or participating in sports, no matter your level or ability there is something for everyone to enjoy and to spend the whole day here at The Track!

MHYG started life as a small village youth group, meeting one evening a week in the village hall. As the group began to develop and grow, the young people were encouraged to participate in prioritising their needs, which resulted in the establishment of the skatepark project in 1989.
MISSION STATEMENT:
"To help educate young people aged eleven and upwards through their leisure time activites, to develop their physical, mental and spiritual capacities, that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of society and that their conditions of life may be improved"

Explore the local mining heritage, the old relics and monuments that were created when Cornwall was the capital of world tin mining. They say ,wherever you go in the world... at the bottom of every mine... is a Cornish man.

We hire mountain bikes, hybrids with full mudguards, childrens bicycles of all sizes, as well as tandems, child tag-along bikes, enclosed child trailers, tricycles and baby seats. All cycles are maintained by a cycle industry trained mechanic and are new each season. We can also offer group hire from schools, youth clubs, Scouts, Guides, HM Forces and community groups.
Bike Chain Bissoe Bike Hire is open from 9am-6pm everyday in the summer and 9am-5pm everyday in the winter. We also have free WiFi... We can't wait to see you!

With over five and a half miles of bank, walkers and bird watchers will enjoy the peaceful surroundings and bird hides.
