A quieter option compared to Tofino, but also a rapidly growing community with a lot of great trails, beaches and restaurants to explore. Approximately 40 minute drive away form Tofino.
A few things to check out:
Wild Pacific Trail: 8km of trail, mostly along the Ucluelet coastline. Several different access points. Also try the 2.6km Lighthouse Loop at the very South end of Ucluelet
Ucluelet Brewing Company: Located in a renovated church, this new brewery has fantastic views over the inlet from the back deck. Lots of snacks and food options as well.
Zoes Bakery: Great coffee shop with lots of homemade baked goods and lunch options.
Pluvio: one of our favourites for dinner! A creative fine dining experience. Currently doing set menu tastings only due to Covid-19.

Industrial Way is a street off of Pacific Rim Highway, just before the downtown of Tofino. Initially, it might not look like much, but tucked away in the industrial buildings, are some of Tofinos best local culinary secrets.
Here's some highlights:
Summit bread Co.: Seriously amazing breads and baked treats. Open Wed-Sat 8am-2pm
Picnic Charcuterie: A great cheese and charcuterie shop. Locally cured meats. Call ahead and have them make you up a cheese platter to take to the beach! Open Tue-Sat 11am-5pm
The Fish Store: sells an array of fresh and flash frozen seafood. Their cold smoked salmon or tune is amazing! Open 11-6
Tofino Brewery: Local craft beers, now with an outdoor seating area. Stay for a flight or pick up some beer to go. Open daily 1-8pm
Tofino Distillery: Primarily known for its Tofino Gin but has other rotating creations on offer. Smaller space but has some tables to sit down and taste some flights of cocktails or spirits. Open Daily 12-7pm
