The best way to see the Plaza and downtown area is to walk!
From here it is a 15 minute walk to the Plaza, and there is a lot to see on the way. If you walk north on Don Gaspar (the street immediately to the east), you will pass the State Capitol building, The Roundhouse. You can take a quick tour and enjoy the impressive design as well as the abundance of impressive New Mexican artwork on display. If you walk north a few blocks to Santa Fe Trail, then turn north (or right) you will pass San Miguel, the oldest church in the Continental United States.
