Sightseeing
We are lucky to live near one of our favourite places in Australia, the World Heritage listed Maria Island. The Spring Bay Wharf is located in Triabunna, just a 15 minutes drive from Kanyini, and is the departure point for the Maria Island Ferry and other scenic cruises.
Ferry tickets can be purchased on the day at the information centre near the wharf.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- There are no cafe or anywhere to purchase food or drinks on the island so you will have to take everything with you. We suggest making some sandwiches before you leave Kanyini and plan for it when you do your shopping.
- You will need to purchase a National Park pass for your trip to Maria Island. This pass is valid for your whole group (up to 6 people). You can either purchase a day pass OR a multi park pass valid for 2 months which is the best option if you are in Tasmania for a bit longer.

This is a famous walk to go up to a lookout to see Wineglass Bay in the Freycinet Peninsula. Once at the lookout you can walk down to wineglass Bay for a walk on the beach.
It is very beautiful but can be crowded. We prefer Maria Island that offers similar beauty without the crowd and is also closer to access from Kanyini.
Wineglass Bay Lookout Track
Wineglass Bay Lookout TrackThis is a famous walk to go up to a lookout to see Wineglass Bay in the Freycinet Peninsula. Once at the lookout you can walk down to wineglass Bay for a walk on the beach.
It is very beautiful but can be crowded. We prefer Maria Island that offers similar beauty without the crowd and is also closer to access from Kanyini.
Scenic drive that starts about 10 kms North of our property and goes all the way to Swansea. Lots of pretty beaches on the way and make sure you stop at the Spiky Bridge to take a photo.

Beautiful Beach for a swim or a walk
You can easily spend half a day exploring saltworks beach and remains. The walk starts from the boat ramp, winds its way though some trees alongside the coastline, goes past the salt works remains and continue on to a pristine white sandy beach.

Our local village. Small but mighty with its pub, cafes, awesome fish and chips and ferry wharf to Maria island. Also has a small supermarket (IGA), a post office and a few shops. Markets once a month on Sunday (check with us to see when the next one is on)

Food options - open for dinner
Please note the nearest town is Triabunna 15 minutes drive South of Kanyini. There are a couple of dinner options (including the fish van on the harbour) and make sure you arrive early as the kitchen usually closes around 8pm.
The next town with dinner options is Swansea, about 35 minutes North of Kanyini.
