A must see with beautiful hiking trails, elk and large redwoods.
This is a must see for all visitors on the way to Prairie Creek Redwoods, a 45 minute drive north and worth every minute. Be prepared for getting possibly wet. The walls are covered with moss and lots of ferns, it is just beautiful. Must cross small creek that runs through, there are small walk ways/logs/wood that have been placed down to pass.

The one-square-mile park is densely packed with potential adventures. On a short walk around the perimeter of the park, you can hunt for agates, explore tidepools, and walk through a jungle of shrubs and trees as you peer out at seals, sea lions, and migrating whales. In the park’s interior, you’ll find a visitor center, a native plant garden, and a reconstructed Yurok plank-house village. You can picnic or wake up to birdsong at one of three campgrounds. In summer, you can witness a traditional ceremony at Sumêg Village or take a hike led by a docent or professional naturalist.

Humboldt State is a beautiful campus, catch a basketball game, soccer game or if you want to go on a run & use the track or see a music/ performance at the Van Duzer Theater. Just a great place to walk around and check out.
