Sightseeing
Granite Dells are 1.4 billion years old (precambrian). Two small reservoirs were made in their center--Watson Lake and Willow Lake. Kayak rentals are available on Watson Lake. Peavine trail nearby is an easy walk to view them also.

You might have driven through Prescott's crown jewel when you arrive to my home: historic downtown is center to weekly events in the summer and beautiful light display during the winter holiday season. Just a walk around the square is an experience.

I recommend taking the free walking tour available during summer months. While on the "Square" , check out the Chamber of Commerce for maps and ideas.

My favorite destination in Arizona. This mountain top town of 455 residents features King Gold mine tours, wine tasting, and multiple art galleries with spectacular views of Red Rock Country. It is a favorite destination of bikers because of the switchback ride up from Prescott and the thriving biker bar which awaits. October features haunted tours and the Haunted Hamburger is located in the Grand Hotel.

October features haunted tours and the Haunted Hamburger is located in the Grand Hotel.
Just a little over an hour's drive north is Red Rock Country with spectacular views, hikes and shopping. It is lower elevation than Prescott, so expect warmer weather. I recommend the West Fork trail for a great hike: in the shadow of the canyon with 15 creek crossings. It is out and back so it can be any length you wish up to 4 miles.

Must see--even if you don't eat-- you can learn the history of Prescott's fire and see the Wild West memorabilia. Sit at the same table where Doc Holliday and the Earp brothers played cards. The food is good, too.

My favorite for wine selection. Known for so many beers on tap. The food is good and there is live music on weekends. They feature an upstairs patio, too.

Old family Italian restaurant with modern bar interior. The pizzas and pastas are all homemade. I found an awesome Merlot by San Sabastiani which is reasonably priced.

I haven't gone here often enough to review. It is a newer restaurant which takes pride on fresh ingredients even if they are flown in. Unique menu. Reservations are required. (at least when they first opened because everyone in town was trying it out).
