Go to https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/ or the WSDOT app
The wsdot.ferries page or add the WSDOT app to your phone to plan your ferry trip. The site will show you what the ferry times are, any alerts about travel times and you can easily see how many spaces are available on the next ferry sailing. You can take the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge or Edmonds to Kingston. Pay for your trip at the ferry booth. The house is less than 20 minutes from either ferry. Please contact us if you have a question about this form of travel.
You can prepay for a ticket on these ferries, but it does not guarantee a place in line.

Ferries and rush hour
The ferries can get backed up at rush hours. On Fridays, especially, this can begin after 4pm, so you may be in line and have to wait for a ferry. This helpful as you plan your arrival, if you wish to explore Seattle or stop for a bite to eat. The rush hour is usually over by 7pm, but can be later. The busy times for going to Seattle are Sunday afternoons after a holiday weekend and during the summer, just before a Seahawks, Sounders or Mariners game or 5:30 on a Friday night.
