Retropatija special event during hot summer nights when everyone are on the streets disguised in old fashion style of middle fifties... Meet the event and look like Fred Astaire or Marilyn Monroe or whatever you wanna be but be part of it.

If you get there don´t left without tasting nice cakes in patisseries " Kao Kakao" or you can go in different direction that will leads you to another interesting places you need to discover and which goes by the order Opatija - Ičići-Ika-Medveja-Lovran.

Sightseeing
If you like combining both active and relaxing vacation than my recommendation as your host is to visit this Natural park...You can hit the "road" toward it on three ways: car, bike or walking. It´s something unique in Opatija. American Gardens, or by the "Opatija" Merican Gardens are located on Opatija's New Road, spanning eight thousand square meters and have a rich history dating back to the first half of the 20th century. Specifically, the Botanical Garden overlooking the entire Kvarner was built in 1926 by a Hungarian named Kuczor, who enriched himself as a merchant in America, and the gardens were called American. A newly constructed overpass bridge leads to the gardens.
