Food Scene

The pizzas are absolutely delicious! All pizzas at 12" great for two and enough for left overs if you are solo. They use only the freshest, organic ingredients and make every pizza to order. They have the ability to make gluten and soy free crusts and are generally very accommodating. They are open Monday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. http://www.firenzepizzeria.com/

Great local scene. Fabulous place to sit with a cup of coffee, hear live music on the weekend mornings, or just eat a great breakfast or lunch. They have sidewalk seating as well as many tables inside. The place tends to be busy but you never have to wait long. Excellent coffee, baked goods and a wide variety of choices on menu. http://downtownjavajoes.com/

Anodyne sits right in the middle of Albuquerque's downtown nightlife scene, and since there's no cover, there's no reason not to stop in while you're out celebrating the weekend with friends. There is comfortable seating, neat decorations, and plenty of pool tables. They have a full bar. They do not serve food but allow you to bring your own food and there are often food trucks right outside. Definitely my favorite bar in Albuquerque.

This is one of my favorites. There are arcade games, good loaded fries and tater tots, and a general comfortable vibe. It draws a good crowd too. The other customers always seem like people I would like to spend time with and the place has a very down to earth feel to it. The service can be a bit slow but they are good people and will treat you well.

Incredible space with lots of opportunities to learn about Hispanic culture and art. Check website for a schedule of exhibits and events: http://www.nhccnm.org/ If possible try to schedule your visit when the Torrón is open (12 - 5 on Saturday and Sunday). Inside is an incredible unique fresco depicting the history of hispanic culture. Pop Fizz Paleteria onsite is a great place to grab a snack or a popsicle (open 11 - 8)

Parks & Nature

Great place to get a feel for the Bosque, bird watch, and take in Albuquerque's art and history. This is a gem and one of my all time favorite places to spend an afternoon. The space is quiet, peaceful and inspiring. https://www.cabq.gov/parksandrecreation/open-space/open-space-visitor-center
