This is a great place for a lazy brunch, but it does get busy so we recommend booking. They also have a great selection of fresh fruit, veg and meat and a brilliant deli for you to stock up the fridge with.

Great for a coffee and a sandwich over lunchtime. They also have lovely pastries and the staff are super friendly.

Really good chinese food. We have only ever had a takeaway (you'll have to wander down and collect it as they don't deliver) but i've heard the restaurant is good too.
Call early to order if you get a takeaway as they get very busy on weekend evenings!

Really good Sunday roast and the staff are warm and welcoming, particularly to our furry friends as they recently won the award for the most dog friendly pub in the UK.

Probably about a 10 minutes drive away but well worth it once you are sitting out in the meadow watching the canal boats sail slowly past. The food is delicious and they have a large variety of different beers.

Great family days out
A few things that we like to do as a family
A stunning national trust property where they filmed the Christmas special of Downtown Abbey. The cafe is good and if you can get a seat in the walled garden to enjoy your coffee/ food. My parents love the 50's style kitchen and the kids love playing with all the 'weird' gadgets. The gardens are stunning and there are loads of great little buildings to sit in a take in the vistas.

National Trust - Basildon Park

The kids can feed the animals, jump on the bouncy pillow, run riot in the soft play double decker bus and then the whole family can take a ride on the tractor to look at the deer.

A great place to go for a picnic and a paddle in the river. Theres also a water sports centre where you can hire a canoe. There are a couple of cute cafes in Pangbourne and some lovely independent boutiques if you fancy a spot of shopping.
