Fun Things to Do
Some of our favorite places in C. Springs!
Garden of the Gods is pretty awesome! You can walk for miles or just stay on the main trails. A lot of it is paved. If you wanted to go into Garden in the Gods for a walk, there is a back entrance. If you turn left on 30th Street, it dead ends into a dog park. You can walk through the door park into Garden of the Gods (it's not a long walk, but not a short walk either). It's really great when the Garden is crowded, but it might not be super crowded this weekend.... Not quite summer time yet! If it's not crowded, driving though would be better bc you get to see more of the park. Then park at the lots and take hikes to see the sights.

Manitou Springs is also pretty fun. It is a cute mountain town built on a spring system. The city has made them into "water fountains" that you can drink from. The water is naturally carbonated and it tastes different at each of the fountains. It is fun to walk around and find them all!

The zoo has won many awards and was just named best private zoo in the country. You can hand feed the giraffe! It is on the side of a mountain and you can take a gondola to the top! I've been to a lot of zoos and this is one of my favorite.

You can drive to the top of a 14'er! It's pretty awesome up there on a clear day. Try the donuts! The drive is super scenic. Stop and check out the reservoirs, and once you pass the tree line, do some hiking! Well worth the toll fee!

Very well maintained facility with excellent restaurant at the base of impressive falls that you can climb to the top of via stairs and then some cool hikes in the hills above. There's also a zipline course that we haven't yet tried but have heard is fun!

Ok, you've now left the Springs and gone past Woodland Park and even Divide, but this is hands down our favorite hike, on the back side of Pike's Peak. Lots of aspens and streams and great views. Different terrains and wildlife for all tastes. (You could even go all the way up Pike's Peak on the Devil's Playground trail adjacent to The Crags, about a 5-hour hike to the top, we're told!)
