This is one of the most beautiful places in Wilmington. I got married here (and for a reasonable price). They don't allow pets, but it's worth checking out. There are giant oak trees in there that are over 350 years old.
When you leave the gardens, turn right and continue down Wrightsville avenue toward the water. This little stretch of road is lovely. It will take you past many beautiful homes and grounds. It brings you out right at the draw bridge going to Wrightsville beach. There are some good restaurants here (the Dockside is pretty good if you want some seafood and they allow pets).

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Wilmington. They have homemade meatballs. The sauce is really good. Their sandwiches (called a Wedge) are really good, too. They usually have homemade desserts. The cheese cake and chocolate mousse are amazing!

These guys make a decent Philly Cheese steak. They don't muck it up with a bunch of extra stuff like lettuce, tomato, mayo, etc. It comes as it should - meat, onion, and cheese. Side of marinara optional. Boom.
