Not far from our home and they do take out! The Crispy Duck Basil and Red Duck Curry are incredible. Well, actually, everything we've ever tried has been great. The thai iced tea is a real treat too!

A true downtown Fredericksburg gem and our absolute favorite. Not the fanciest of places but the food is great AND affordable and its right in downtown Fred near the train tracks. The pulled pork sandwich is the bomb!

The best local pizza in our opinion - super thin crust but truly amazing! Because its thin crust it isn't the best for take-out so enjoy it there. We love the pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom one but they're all good!

Some of our favorite places to enjoy nature and history.
The only major hike we can recommend - its a 1.5 hour drive and in the Shenandoahs. Really great and challenging climb with some bouldering near the peak. You won't need any specialized gear but expect to sweat a lot!

Quite a ways from us but the closest National Park. Skyline drive and the Appalachian Trail run the whole way down the park and make beautiful scenic drives and choose-your-own-adventure hikes easy to do.

A beautiful and close option for fishing and boating - they rent out kayaks and small fishing boats there. We've seen HUGE fish out there when we're kayaking.

A large park next to the Rappahannock River, its one of the best places to swim in the summer. For safety, don't swim there when the water is high.

A great little park right near the heart of downtown, there is a great (and long) trail along the stream that is not too difficult but really beautiful, with lots of access points to small beaches on the stream if you want a dunk.

The City itself was a major battleground in the Civil War and they've preserved much of the battlefield in the heart of downtown. Its atop a hill that gives great views over the town and well worth a visit.
