Achill is a beautiful island that is accessible by a bridge. It has great beaches with lots of outdoor activities. Also nice places to eat. You can cycle from Westport along the Great Western Greenway. The bike companies will shuttle you there or back so you only cycle one way.

Built upon the foundations of one of her many castles which can still be toured in the dungeons today, the original Westport House was built in 1650 by Colonel John Browne and his wife Maud Burke, Grace O’Malley’s great-great-granddaughter.
