Camping/restaurant Les Moulins de la Vergne is located near (the town) Pons. The symbol of the town is the Donjon. A 33 meter high, medieval tower from the 12th century. The thickness of the walls lies between 2,5 and 4,40 meters. The Donjon offers a magnificent view of the surrounding area and is located next to the park which is created on the old city ramparts. In the valley you will see the river La Seugne flow among the trees. Next to the park is a square with two café’s where you can go for a drink and a bite.

A World Heritage site since 1998 famous for its 12th century ribbed vault, the oldest and best preserved in Europe, the hospital was originally built by Geoffrey III in the 1160’s, to ‘salve his soul those of his parents and to help the poor.’ A shelter for the poor and home for orphans the hospital also became an important resting place for pilgrims in the Middle Ages.
A medicinal garden where therapeutic herbs and plants are grown is to see during your visit of the momument. The herbs were organised in four sections to help the sick by providing relief for their sufferings, reducing fevers, healing wounds, purging and cleansing the digestive system and for making creams and cosmetics f
