Small park but a nice place for a picnic, good river views which are hard to come by in the gorge. Historic interest as the locks predate Bonneville Dam. And, it's free.

There are many to chose from, but this is close to Stevenson, can be done in under two hours, and has great views from the top. It's also of Native American significance so appreciating that will make it more special.

Unfortunately, it's gotten very popular but it's still one of my favorites. It has everything: nice forest, waterfalls, great views, and wildflowers in season. It's best to go during an off time. State park pass required which is a total bummer.

Sightseeing
It's a nice place with a great view, though pricey. The best way to experience it is to get a beverage at the bar/lounge, take it outside and sit on the deck chairs or on the lawn. Very relaxing and beautiful on a summer day.
