There are so many walks from your doorstep. Catbells is a classic; but try going down the lane by the cafe to the campsite. You can then head up castle crag or up on Maiden Moor for a myriad of low and high level walks. One of our favourites is to walk to Grasmere via Langstrath and catch the bus back. A strenuous but easy walk.
