The River Thames is the lifeblood of London and was one of the main reason 'Londinium' was founded by the Romans. Since that time the city has constantly changed and evolved. The best way to experience this is on the river itself, by taking one of the many river boats. A great place to start is Greenwich, site of the Old Royal Naval College, established in 1694. Access it by taking the DLR from Stratford station to Mudchute and walking under the Thames through the Greenwich Foot Tunnel. A guaranteed winner of a day out!
