Finnish tapas = sapas! Fresh Northern tastes, a lot of small portions. Great service. If you are a foreigner and want a taste of Finnish cuisine, this is the place to go.

Pretty much the nearest real restaurant. It's a small pub with burgers, pulled pork, meatballs, pizza... If I don't want fast food and can't be bothered to take a bus to the Centrum, I go to Kaski for the pulled pork and mashed potatoes.

Treffi officially has the best cheeseburger in Helsinki! The restaurant used to be a pub, but they totally changed the concept some time ago, got an actual coal grill and now serve some great food. Be prepared for some trouble with the service though, since they're quite new at running a restaurant :)

Drinks & Nightlife
Paino is pretty much one of the only places I go for a beer in Helsinki. Friendly, English speaking (but sometimes not Finnish speaking..) service, great drinks and a wide selection of beers. No loud music or live performances, a great place to hang out with your friends.

This is an underground spot in Vallila with a lot of interesting performances, including rap, grime, dnb, dubstep... Check their website for events. It's a black cave with a lot of speakers.
