One of our favorite places for breakfast or brunch! Only about 1/2 mile from our home. In addition to their traditional, enormous made from scratch biscuits, they also have gluten free biscuits for those with gluten sensitivities! Note: line can be a bit long on the weekend. This place has great pizza as the name suggests, but also offers a great selection of pasta & delicious salads. We love the cheesy garlic bread with the Alfredo dipping sauce (even available gluten free!). If you are looking for gluten free pizza, we recommend you call ahead to make sure they haven’t sold out.

One of our favorites! The Dripolator offers locally roasted coffee, local dairy products, Asheville Tea tea products, gluten free breakfast/snacks (You’ve got to try the pumpkin chocolate chip muffin!), a gourmet selection of chocolate bars and a local mountain town atmosphere.

Great indoor play place for cold or rainy days. Our children LOVE this place! Located in South Asheville. Has an infant/toddler section that is fenced off from older kid zone.

Your kids will love this place (you will too!). Montreat offers a large playground that has a stream running along side it. Once the kids are finished on the playground, they will certainly love playing in the stream for hours. Also, Montreat has a small lake that offers canoeing/paddle boating/fishing. Our family loves to go for walks in Montreat. You can park at the main entrance and walk into the “town” or drive in and park. Great place for picnics!

This is a multi-use park. It includes walking trails, a greenway that takes you into downtown Black Mountain, disc golf, playground and sports complex. You can walk over to the park from the house (please note there are not sidewalks, but the shoulder of the road offers sufficient space) or take a short drive over.
