The hike to the top can be somewhat hard if you are not used to climbing uphill, but locals past 70 years old go there daily and or weekly! Make sure to take good shoes, though sneakers are okay. It is a 45 min climb. The record is 10 min! Great views. You can also do some paragliding from the top if you book in advance.

This is the oldest medieval town in Slovenia, only 20 minutes from our house. Great museum about WW2 (and taxidermied animals) in the old castle overlooking the town.

This is a great family restaurant with such a nice terrace under the trees. It is located a 5 min drive from our house and locals go there after coming down Smarna Gora. The dishes are not pretentious and good. A good family owned restaurant

Ptuj is home to a UNESCO recognized Carnaval tradition (Kurentovanje) and is also a great place to come to on Nov 11, which is St Martin Day. The town organizes many new wine tasting on that date
