Ivan Meštrović Gallery , is an art museum in Split, Croatia dedicated to the work of the 20th-century sculptor, Ivan Meštrović. The gallery preserves and presents to the public the most significant works of Meštrović, and is in itself an art monument. The permanent collection includes works of sculpture, drawings, design, furniture and architecture. Holdings include original plaster models by the artist, as well as finished works in bronze, marble and wood. The gallery building and grounds were based on original plans by Meštrović himself, and included living and working areas, as well as exhibition spaces. Not far from the gallery lies Kaštelet-Crikvine, a restored chapel that houses a set of wooden wall panels carved by Ivan Meštrović

The ethnographic museum of Split is housed in a building that itself already is of exceptional cultural and historical architectural significance. Fancy yourself walking trough a room dating from the 4th century. The actual former bedroom of the Emperor Diocletian himself? The most intimate part of the Palace? Yes? I thought so... Located next to the Peristyle - the central square of the Palace - the museum presents an extremely valuable ethnographic collection portraying the old ways of life in Split, the islanders and farmers of the Dalmatian hinterland and more. The museum's permanent collection displays regional costumes, jewelery, pottery, knitting, and other various handmade artifacts.

THE CATHEDRAL OF SAINT DOMNIUS is a complex of a church, formed from an Imperial Roman mausoleum, with a bell tower; strictly the church is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and the bell tower to Saint Domnius. Together they form the Cathedral of St. Domnius. The Cathedral of Saint Domnius, consecrated at the turn of the 7th century AD, is regarded as the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world that remains in use in its original structure, without near-complete renovation at a later date. Definitely recommend to climb up until the belfry and enjoy in spectacular view, also you must see stunning DIOCLETIANS PALACE which is an ancient palace built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD, that today forms about half the old town of Split, Croatia. While it is referred to as a "palace" because of its intended use as the retirement residence of Diocletian, the term can be misleading as the structure is massive and more resembles a large fortress: about half of it was for Diocletian's personal use, and the rest housed the military garrison. Today the remains of the palace are part of the historic core of Split, which, in 1979 were listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Sites.

Forest park Marjan in Split is covered in a dense Mediterranean pine forest and completely surrounded by the city and the sea making it a unique sight. It is a favourite weekend excursion destinations of citizens and a recreational center. It is also the setting for numerous beaches and jogging trails as well as tennis courts. On northern part of forest (described above) please make sure to follow the main path. Southern part of forest is quite secluded and poorly visited. On southern part I only recommend to visit coffee bar "Vidilica" from where you can see a spectacular view on entire city Split.

Salona (very close to Split) is the largest archeological park in Croatia, whose size is attested by the monumental ramparts with towers and gates, a forum with temples, an amphitheater and cemetries with Salonian martyrs (Manastirine, Kapljuc, Marusinac). Salona was a town with over 60 000 inhabitants and, according to legend, birth place of Emperor Diocletian. Apart from Salona you can see the remnants of ruins from the era of the Turks, as well as the Gašpine mill from the 18th century with the mill, old tools and the so-called Hollow Church. It is the coronation basilica of King Zvonimir where he was crowned as the King of Croatia and Dalmatia.

Klis Fortress is a medieval fortress above a village Klis near Split. From its origin as a small stronghold built by the ancient Illyrian tribe Dalmatae, becoming a royal castle that was the seat of many Croatian kings, to its final development as a large fortress during the Ottoman wars in Europe. Although crucial to Split's history the fortress was a crumbling outpost until Game of Thrones happened. In season 4, released in 2014, Klis Fortress was transformed into Meereen, the largest of the 3 great Slaver Cities. It was the best thing to happen to Klis since the Croatian duke Mislav made it the seat of his duchy in the middle of 9th century.

Trogir is a town protected by UNESCO since 1997. The main part of Trogir is situated on a small island. Trogir is a unique example of an excellently preserved Romanesque island town. Trogir was founded by Greek colonists who arrived from the island of Vis in the 3rd century BC. Great number of churches, towers and palaces reflects an exceptionally rich and memorable past. Kamerlengo Fortress is a magnificent building from the 15th ct., and it got its name after a kamerlengo – a treasurer who took care of town finances for the town Duke. There is a wonderful view of Trogir and its surroundings from the top of the fortress, and various events are held in the atrium during summer.

The Mlinice Pantan are situated between Split and Trogir and represent the unique connection between nature and history. The renovated renaissance mlinice (little mills) are an important example of industrial architecture. The Mlinice rely on more than 12 little sources that form a lake, and all of this into the wider sea laguna. Pantan is the habitat of many fish and bird species and autochthonous plants. . The best season for swamp bird watching is during autumn, because Pantan is an important migration location. This ichthyologic-ornithological reserve today is a real tourist attraction, and there is also a restaurant of local and international specialities and a supreme quality wine list. Their food is fresh, seasonal and delicious. I thorougly enjoyed in meal surrounded by beautiful landscape and I highly recommend it.

The national park is a vast and primarily unaltered area of exceptional natural value, including one or more preserved or insignificantly altered ecosystems. The purpose of the park is primarily to serve science, culture, education and recreation, while tourism activities have also been introduced for its visitors. On some part of Krka you can even take a bath or take a ride by boat enjoying its pictoresque lanscape and nature which are stunning and breathtaking. Including the submerged part of the river at the mouth, the Krka River is 72.5 km long, making it the 22nd longest river in Croatia. It springs in the foothills of the Dinara mountain range, 2.5 km northeast of Knin. With its seven waterfalls and a total drop in altitude of 242 m, the Krka is a natural and karst phenomenon. The travertine waterfalls of the Krka River are the fundamental phenomenon of this river.

Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia. The park is situated in the mountainous region of Croatia, between the Mala Kapela mountain range in the west and northwest, and the Lička Plješivica mountain range to the southeast. The park is primarily covered in forest vegetation, with smaller areas under grasslands. The most attractive part of the park – the lakes – cover just under 1% of the total park area. The lake system is comprised of 16 named and several smaller unnamed lakes, cascading one into the next. Due to the geological substrate and characteristic hydrogeological conditions, the lake system has been divided into the Upper and Lower lakes. The twelve lakes forming the Upper Lakes are: Prošćansko jezero, Ciginovac, Okrugljak, Batinovac, Veliko jezero, Malo jezero, Vir, Galovac, Milino jezero, Gradinsko jezero, Burgeti and Kozjak. These lakes were formed on impermeable dolomite rock, and are larger, with more indented and gentler shores than the Lower Lakes. The Lower Lakes, consisting of the lakes Milanovac, Gavanovac, Kaluđerovac and Novakovića Brod, were formed in permeable limestone substrate, cut into a deep canyon with steep cliffs. The lakes end in the impressive waterfalls Sastavci, with the Korana River springing under the base of the falls.
