Beautiful 3-4 day hiking trac however you can do half or 1 day hikes from Te Anau. Either take a water taxi across or walk from town past the control gates and walk up to Luxmore hut- this will take you 2-3 hrs to reach the hut and will give you amazing views of Lake Te anau. Or you can go the other way down the river and be amongst the native forest- this section can also be biked on the opposite side of the river.
