🇮🇹 La riserva naturale orientata Cavagrande del Cassibile è un’area naturale protetta situata nella parte sud-orientale della Sicilia. La riserva, istituita nel 1990, è nata con lo scopo di preservare le differenti ricchezze del suo territorio sia dal punto di vista naturalistico e paesaggistico sia sotto il profilo archeologico e antropologico. Essa ha una vastità di 2700 ettari ed è caratterizzata da profonde fratture, chiamate “cave”, che ne delineano i bordi. Si tratta di canyon prodotti dall’erosione dei corsi d’acqua che tutt’ora scorrono sul fondo. Sono numerosi i sentieri che portano a questo angolo di paradiso, e per gli amanti di trekking quale migliore escursione scegliere se non questa. Il sentiero segue il percorso del fiume Cassibile, attraversando incantevoli paesaggi naturali. È possibile rinfrescarsi nelle splendide acque del fiume. L’ingresso alla riserva è gratuito, si consiglia sempre abbigliamento comodo e di non precorrere i sentieri nelle ore più calde, soprattutto nella risalita.
🇬🇧 The Cavagrande del Cassibile nature reserve is a protected natural area located in the south-eastern part of Sicily. The reserve, established in 1990, was born with the aim of preserving the different riches of its territory both from a naturalistic and landscape point of view and from an archaeological and anthropological point of view. It has a vastness of 2700 hectares and is characterized by deep fractures, called "caves", which outline the edges. These are canyons produced by the erosion of the waterways that still flow on the bottom. There are numerous paths that lead to this corner of paradise, and for trekking lovers what better excursion to choose than this one. The trail follows the path of the Cassibile river, crossing enchanting natural landscapes. You can cool off in the beautiful waters of the river. Admission to the reserve is free, comfortable clothing is always recommended and not to precede the paths during the hottest hours, especially when climbing.
