Lots of great Mexican Food in town but the service and food here is the best in my opinion. (not super speedy so allow a bit of time to relax and people watch)

Sightseeing

Only 35 miles from the house. Don’t miss the Medano creek area. Find the ‘road of no return’ if you have all wheel drive. Beautiful sights and quite the adventure!

This is the station you take off from for the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad. I recommend going to Chama NM. They have open air gondolas and buffet lunch at the top! 🚂

Consigli per viaggiatori

Da non perdere

Coffee and Breakfast

The Campus Cafe is a local favorite (very diner-esk with the biggest cinnamon rolls you've ever had) only 2 blocks away, across from Safeway. Milagro Coffee has amazing coffee and some of the best Huevos Rancheros I've ever had. The Roast Cafe, also on main street, also has great coffee!
Da non perdere

The River walk on the Rio Grande just a few blocks away!

Head east on 1st and take a left on La Veta. If you continue walking east, it will take you towards downtown. Lots of wildlife here and bike friendly but not at all crowded.

Family Friendly activities

Sand Dunes Recreation heated pools. (they also have an adults only indoor area open year round) Zapata Falls, Mosca Trail, Alligator Farm and Sand Dune National Park to name a few!

Electric scooter rental

New bike lanes in residential areas make scooting around fun and easy but please note they are zippy and cars don’t always see you! (so be careful) There is a map on the Bird e-scooter app or just walk to Adam’s State campus. (right behind the house : )

Cute Gift Shops on Main St.

My two favorites are Treasure Alley and Wild Roses. Both on the north side of Main Street. 🛍 (713 Main for TA and 511 Main for WR)
