A must see tourist hot spot. Built by one man over decades it is an awesome structure. It has a great backstory and a testament to one mans passion and willpower. A bit scary at times depending on how far you dare to ascend the spires and bridges.

This is the closest town population 500+. It has very small commercial center with cafe (reopening 8/21) , boutique shop stock by local artists, etc. Closest post office is here.

Sightseeing
It's unlikely you'll visit the Royal Gorge without a stop in nearby Cañon City. And although the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park sports the nation's highest suspension bridge, dangling more than 1,000 feet above the crashing Arkansas River below, that's not the only reason to visit this city in south-central Colorado. River rafting is a huge attraction here, and it doesn't get any more exciting than a trip through the Royal Gorge.
