Somerleyton is a ‘model’ Victorian village built by Sir Morten Peto. However the site has been inhabited since Viking times. The village has a pub, a train station, a marina and a bike hire / ice cream shop. There are sites of historical interest including the old Brick Kilns and the first hovercraft. Somerleyton estate is part of the Wildeast movement which commits 20% of its land back to nature. Also known as rewilding.
