Things to do places to see

We have listed some of our favourite places, restaurants and walks to help you plan your visit.
Known for the incredible view, good food and atmosphere. Currently doing restaurant meals, bbq and drinks. Best to book a table for all of the above as people go here year on year as well as locals.

So Padstow is very well documented as one of the places in Cornwall to visit and is our nearest town. For me it’s always a place to visit early morning, before the crowd when you get a sense of the real Padstow, with a few fishermen and no one else much around (apart from my dad and a couple of his die hard mates who are out for rides most mornings!) it is peaceful, tranquil and a great place to take a moment to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Places to eat are many and varied. If you fancy breakfast with locals and fishermen try Bens just behind the bus park on the old station platform. If you want incredible try No6 by Paul Ainsworth - the local Michelin star restaurant. In between is everything , cake from The Olive Tree, great view at the Green, Harbour hotel offer value for money and a great view. The pubs rustic or modern all provide excellent food. At the moment (2020) you Must book lunches and dinners. Even big kids love a pint of cider and trying to catch a few crabs on the harbour, if your into historical buildings check out the beautiful church and Prideaux Place. Ice cream we always get from the tiny little shop that looks like a cupboard on the left of the harbour but Kelly’s is also very very good! You have to try a pasty from The Cough and for fish and chips it’s chips ahoy every time. Just beware of the seagulls!

The Camel Trail is a completely flat cycle route which takes you to Padstow, Wadebridge, Bodmin and Wenfordbridge. An old railway track there are bikes hires in Padstow and Wadebridge to hire bikes. We also have our own bike hire however there are two hills between us and the trail so we only recommend for frequent riders or to use electric bikes if we have any available.

Beautiful spot a short walk from a National trust car park which is a great starting place to explore some of the seven bays.

Neighbourhoods

Wadebridge is still an busy market town and actually not bad for shopping. For homes and clothes we have some Independant shops who are doing great things! We also have Barnicutts-another place you need to try a pasty from, wine shop, gun shop, fish shop, delis, cafes and galleries. Worth a couple of hours mooching. It is also home to The Camel Trail and if you don’t fancy the cycle from our house you can hire from my Parents at Bridge Bike Hire and wither head to Padstow or upriver toward bodmin and the moors!
