Los Vallecitos is only a couple of miles from the Santa Fe National forest where you can find mountain trails for hiking. Whether you are an experienced mountain hike or a novice there are plenty of trails to explore.

This is a moderate to strenuous hike for the outdoor adventurer. It’s a 12.2 mile loop with 2800 ft of elevation gain. The trail takes you through big meadows and up mountain sides with beautiful wild flower and mushrooms. It is a lightly traveled trail for those people that like the peace and quiet of the mountains. Great for a long day hike or an overnight backpack trip.

For the adventurous this a stunning moderately rated hike. Great for groups or families. A great day hike that ends at a beautiful alpine lake or you can continue up the trail to summit Jicarita peak.
