“When long-time surfer Eugene Tan began emailing photos of the waves and surfers of Bondi Beach to friends some 14 years ago, he had no idea his little project would evolve to anything as big as Aquabumps. Today, 51,000 people subscribe to his daily email newsletter – featuring pictures he’s taken that morning in Bondi (or, if on holidays, in Tahiti, the Maldives, Fiji...) – and thousands pour into the gallery to see the images up on the wall. There’s been a book – 2010’s A Day at Bondi – and there’s another one on the way in October. And there’s a partnership with Havaianas: the new line of Aquabumps thongs come out in August. Why did his little project take off? “It’s been popular because it’s grown organically,” says Tan. “It’s a hand-selected group of likeminded people who all have one thing in common: they love the beach."”

“Since its opening in 1992 the Sydney Jewish Museum has become an integral part of the cultural life of Sydney. The Museum is dedicated to documenting and teaching the history and lessons of the Holocaust. They commemorate the lives of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators, honour the survivors and pay tribute to the "Righteous Among Nations". The Museum challenges visitors' perception of democracy, morality, social justice and human rights. The Museums' timeline invites visitors to explore Jewish history from its Biblical origin in the Ancient Near East to the thriving community in Australia. ”

“In 1950, this Harry Seidler-designed home was the most revolutionary house in the country. Australia’s architectural lineage is rooted in Britain’s Federation style, but this perfectly preserved example of the Bauhaus movement looks like it’s landed from outer space—it makes no attempt to link with its bushland surrounds. Book online for Sunday tours. The upper North Shore is a moneyed, suburban area of generously sized blocks. The area offers insight into another side of Sydney—the sense of nature offers a really different urban experience. Explore the area and try the Butcher’s Block café, a popular local spot for coffee or lunch.”
