“Pyrite Mine Trail Loop (PMTL) is a 7.6 mile lightly trafficked cluster of trails that together make up the "loop". There are other trails that shoot off of the loop for challenges and distance challenges. It features historical placards, waterfall, shade and is good for all skill levels, even if you are restarting after an injury. Definitely stop at the Visitor Center which is 1/4 mile from entrance, for detailed trail map. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year round. You can bring an inner tube and float away on the river (nice and slow). National Park opens at 9A with a cost of $10/car or $7 bike or walking into park.”

History Museum
“Twenty minutes away, the Rising Sun Tavern Museum provides a lively interpretation of late 18th-century Tavern life. Charles Washington, George Washington's youngest brother, built this landmark in the 1760's as his private residence. After being sold outside the Washington family, the building was leased as a tavern in 1792. Operating as a stopover for travelers for 35 years in the bustling town of Fredericksburg, it was a popular diversion for travelers and locals alike. Today, costumed guides entertain visitors as though they have just stepped off their coaches into the late 18th-century life. See how bygone visitors slept, ate, drank and lived. No alcohol is served here.”

“This is my favorite non-chain restaurant in Stafford, VA. The food is delicious and made from scratch. I love the pizza & meatballs on the appetizer menu as well as the lamb shank & anything pasta on the dinner menu. The wine list is great and they have specials on Wednesday nights. On Friday nights there is a man playing the keyboard when you walk in and he sings classics, like Sinatra! Prices range from $15-30+ for dinner here.”
