With picturesque views of Mt. Giluwe & Mt. Ialibu, this modern, fully-contained double story house is perfect place to stay, whether travelling alone or in a group. There are also traditional village huts (Tok Pisin: kunai haus) situated in the backyard as well, if you want to experience a typical, rural setting. I have listed that min. stay is 3 nights & max. stay is 5 nights HOWEVER I can also accomodate for longer stays as well-be sure to let me know!
Situated in Koromi village, a small rural township in Ialibu, Southern Highlands Province (SHP), this town is one of the most peaceful and easy-going places in the Highlands Region of Papua New Guinea.
This property is situated in front of the highway road. There is a rural village community few blocks down from the property. There are no streets, rather just chunks of land with property on it, so one wouldn't classify it as a "neighbourhood". This property is located in Kuli village (Ialibu District), which is a very calm & peaceful area with lots of friendly locals.

This is a unique village experience in Maral village in Ialibu, Southern Highlands Province. You will be hosted by George and Helen and their family for 2 nights in their traditional village hut. The experience includes having breakfast and dinner with the family (usually local vegetables) and either hiking Mt Ialibu, walking to the waterfalls or taking a short hike through the grasslands to the lake, depending on your levels of interest and fitness. The listed rate is per person.
You will be staying in George and Helen's family home. You will experience traditional village life. Minimum stay is 2 nights with an optional activity of your choice such as a hike up Mt Ialibu (requires medium to high fitness, 6 hours+), hike to the waterfalls (steep, requires high fitness, 2 hours), hike to the lake (requires low to medium fitness, 2-4 hours). Ialibu rains a lot and this may affect plans, please have suitable attire for rain and mud. Or if you prefer you can choose to accompany the family on their daily activities. George and Helen live in a traditional village hut. There is a fireplace inside. There is solar lighting, no electricity. Water if fetched from a nearby stream. The toilet is a pit toilet located separately from the house.
This is a home in a village. The surrounding homes are part of the same village and your hosts can better explain the different tribes who live there and their histories.

Half board is included! Pangia, a small village in the Southern Highlands. The Inn has 8 rooms, a toilet with shower and a very nice kitchen, where you also have the opportunity to make yourself something to eat. It is offered breakfast and dinner. The vegetables come from the garden and are freshly prepared. On special occasions, the locals prepare a "mumu". The meat and vegetables are cooked in an earth oven and covered with banana leaves. On request, you can experience a "Mumu".
People live here from the proceeds of their gardens and coffee growing. Southern Highlands has a lot of limestone mountains with huge caves, many of which are still unexplored. In addition to the mountains, wide valleys and river landscapes dominate. The climate is very pleasant year round and also the malaria danger is very low. If you want to get to know the people, how they live, then you are exactly right here. The very personal guesthouse of Nicholas and his family has been built with great attention to detail. For 20 years Nicholas has been building his Inn. It is important to him the traditional construction. Many materials come from the forest. He trains the young generation so that the old craft will not be forgotten. There are many possibilities of activities on site: Hikes in the beautiful surroundings, Bird watching Hike to the waterfall Volcano Trekking Goroka Festival Visit a local market Very nice is also the visit of a church service on Sunday with a lot of singing. Visit the next town Ialibu. Visit to a coffee plantation For all excursions a guide is included. The price is paid locally and is on request. On request we can pick you up from the airport in Mount Hagen and drive together with the public PMV to the Inn. Of course we will also bring you back to the airport.
