“elaware Water Gap National Recreation Area - Beach Soak up the sun at Milford or Smithfield Beach! The recreation area staffs Milford Beach and Smithfield Beach with lifeguards during the summer. Lifeguards are on duty weekends from mid-June through August. Beach fees are charged April through October. Restroom and picnic facilities are available, but dogs and alcohol are prohibited. Swimming elsewhere is not recommended, as strong currents, sharp drop-offs, and constantly changing river conditions make many areas unsafe for swimming.”

“Promised Land State Park - Beach Two sand beaches are open daily from late May to mid-September, 8am to sunset. Enjoy swimming and recreation at the park! Please read and follow posted rules for swimming. The main beach is in the Day Use Picnic Area where a concession stand is open daily. The Pickerel Point Beach is on the end of Pickerel Point. There are no lifeguards, so groups must meet the state park adult-to-child ratio requirements for supervision. Smoking is permitted in designated areas.”
