“Araluen Botanic Park is a very special place nestled in a unique deep forested valley in the Darling Range. It comprises a tranquil botanic garden of both natural and developed beauty, providing four seasons of relaxing activity. Whatever time you visit Araluen, you will find the streams flowing, plenty of grassy areas on which to enjoy a barbeque or picnic and many delightful bush walks. Heavenly gardens featuring both exotic and native species have been created in this heritage-listed setting of rich, loamy soils and high rainfall. Magnificent culturally significant terraced gardens, timber and stone structures, water features and mature trees from the basis of the park. Popular in spring for its tulips and other magnificent spring blooms, Araluen holds great attraction for weddings, photography, bird-watching and family get-togethers. The Araluen Train, complete with recorded commentary, is a popular attraction during the peak spring flowering season. Events include childrens activities during school holidays, Art in the Park on the last Sunday of every month and Carols by Torchlight in December. Araluen has a proud past. Established in 1929 as a holiday resort for the Young Australia League, it now clearly exudes the beauty and ambience of a bygone era. Facilities include the Chalet Healy log cabin tearooms and Roundhouse gift shop, both complete with open log fires in winter. Electric BBQs are available all year round on the central concourse area, while wood-fired BBQs are scattered throughout the park and operate in non-fire restricted times. All amenities contain disabled and parenting facilities and free wheelchair hire is available at the entry. Electric gophers are also available at a modest hire cost for those with mobility restrictions. Araluen Botanic Park is proudly supported by the Department of Parks and Wildlife.”

“Beautiful white sand beach with grassy area above. Amazing place to spend the day since you can walk just a few minutes and grab lunch or drinks at Hilary's boat harbor next door. We highly recommend bringing the family, some blankets, and a picnic and watching the sun set. The kids can run around while you enjoy a glass of wine. It really is lovely on warm evenings. There are some free barbecue grills there but they are first come first serve and they do fill up petty quickly. ”
