Museo d'arte
“One of the foremost modern art collections in the US. Various movements, themes, and styles are represented. The Permanent Collection includes pieces by Pablo Picasso, Philip Guston, Anselm Kiefer, Robert Motherwell, Susan Rothenberg, Jackson Pollock, Andres Serrano, Cindy Sherman, Andy Warhol. Cafe Modern is a great place to grab lunch, enjoying views of the museum’s reflecting pool. Hours: Mon: Closed. | Tue-Sun: 10a-5p. Admission: $16 for adults (free on Fridays, half-price on Sundays.) Parking: typically free. Located next door to the Kimbell. Might as well do both. (The Amon Carter Museum is also right there and great, too!)”

“Designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson (1906-2005), the Amon Carter Museum of American Art houses a preeminent collection of American art including painting, sculpture, and works on paper; it has been a Fort Worth institution since 1961. The collection spans early nineteenth-century expeditionary art to mid-twentieth century modernism and includes masterworks by artists such as Frederic Church, Stuart Davis, Arthur Dove, Thomas Eakins, Winslow Homer, Georgia O'Keeffe, and John Singer Sargent. “What do Annie Oakley, Georgia O'Keeffe, Patsy Cline, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Sandra Day O'Connor and Jessie from Toy Story 2 have in common? You'll find them all at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, the only museum in the world dedicated to honoring women of the American West. This vibrant museum is an entertaining and intriguing look at the contributions of bold women who have displayed extraordinary courage and a pioneering spirit in their trail blazing efforts. You'll be amazed as you walk through the 33,000 square feet of space devoted to interactive exhibits, rare photographs, fascinating artifacts, a traveling exhibit gallery and theater presentations. The grand rotunda alone - a multi-story space that houses the Hall of Fame - is worth the visit. Be sure to pick up authentic souvenirs in the colorful gift shop before you leave.”

“Right across from the Zoo, this little village is a hidden gem. There are 11 buildings along a cement walking trail. Each building is wheel chair/stroller accessible. Costumed guides (not actors) are available throughout willing to answer any question or assist with demonstrations. One day we attended, country crooner Bob Sawyer was singing cowboy folk songs and entertaining guests with lots of cool information and stories. The bathrooms are centrally located and very clean. The Seela Cabin is very hands-on for kids to play with period-style toys (mostly reproductions) inside and out. Beware of the water pump - younger kids MAY get wet. There is a little photo-op wagon nearby. We were able ”
