With aged oak and natural tones the barn welcomes your tired feet to a stress and city-free escape. On the route between Falmouth and the Helford River, it comfortably fits a couple with a child.
This south facing barn offers year-round accommodation with self catering facilities for those who prefer an independent break. It comfortably accommodates 2 adults and a child; with a large double bedroom and small single room. (The bedrooms are within the pitch of the roof and may not be comfortable for someone over 6'2".) The spacious open plan kitchen/lounge has solid oak flooring and modern cooking facilities with more than adequate space for evenings in. The paneled bathroom is fitted with a shower, WC and basin, with a stone tiled floor and underfloor heating. The utility is fitted with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Guests will be provided with hand and bath towels along with a welcome pack including the essentials needed for self catering. We're willing to provide advice, so please don't hesitate to ask us recommendations for activities or restaurants. We live next to the barn and will be present most of the time.
Pennance Mill is a rural hamlet on the road between Falmouth and Mawnan Smith, with country walks and beaches nearby. It's only a short bus journey or taxi trip into Falmouth, which would cost no more than a few pounds.

Il mio primo soggiorno Airbnb, tutti i posti futuri avranno un duro seguito!

A stylishly furnished king-sized annex overlooking the garden with its own private entrance. The room is at the back of our Victorian townhouse and has its own ensuite shower room and a private parking space. It is located in central Falmouth close to the town centre, beaches, rail stations and some of the university campus buildings. It is ideal for couples, parents visiting their kids at university and business travellers. Please note there's no breakfast, only tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
The room and its ensuite are in an annex with its own private entrance through the garden. Guests are welcome to use the garden. Please note that there are no cooking facilities, but there is a small silent fridge. It is a quiet and comfortable space for a good nights sleep with its king-sized bed and blackout curtains. There is a private ensuite with walk in shower. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap and towels are provided. There is a 'storage corridor' with plenty of room to put suitcases etc and guests can hang clothes on hooks and hangers. There is a completely silent fridge, a DAB radio/bluetooth speaker next to the bed, and a desk to work at, or to sit and drink a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Please note that no breakfast is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own things to eat, or there are plenty of lovely cafes for breakfast in Falmouth close by.
The house is near the town centre, so there are a lot of great restaurants and some nice independent shops within easy walking distance, and a Tesco supermarket less than 5 mins walk into town. There are fab independent cafes called Espressini and Good Vibes Cafe close by which do great breakfasts and coffee, or there is a Wetherspoon pub/restaurant 2 mins walk into town which does a good full English breakfast for very little money. Or I can recommend Gylly Beach Cafe for breakfast - it is only 20 mins walk and literally on the beach!

Lovely, snug flat perfect for two guests looking to hide away somewhere in the middle of Falmouth, with gated parking and outside seating area overlooking the harbour.
Falmouth is well known for its waterside activities, and lively town vibe; and this flat gives great access to both. It's bang smack in the middle of the town, right on the water, and has the rarest of advantages in town - its own parking spot, which is inside a secure gated area. Newly refurbished, it's clean, warm and comfortable, but also (hopefully) tastefully kitted out with some home comforts. For sunny days, you won't be found wanting for access to any number of activities, safe in the knowledge that your car doesn't need to move after x number of hours. Regular activities on the main town squares are within easy walking distance, boat trips from the pier are on your doorstep, and the ferry to St Mawes less than 100 metres away. For rainy days, there's the telly with access to Sky...plus a variety of board games...and a PS3 with some old school classics...not to mention the bookshelf...or DVDs. Lastly, I do love a good coffee, so there's a nice Nespresso machine here to be used.
Falmouth is a year-round vibrant town, unique to Cornwall in that there is the omnipresent university crowd who give the area its energy. Three great beaches, countless good eateries, river cruises, fishing trips, walking routes of any length, pubs-a-plenty, and near to any number of days out...this town really is a great centre to a south Cornwall break.

Tucked away on the banks of the River Fal, our secluded, wild location is one of the most unique settings in Cornwall. At the heart of the venue is the 300 year old Lost Cottage of Penperth. In addition there are 4 individual accommodation pods; the Treehouse, Potting Shed, Hunting Lodge and Shepherd's Hut. Set within an ancient oak woodland in a private creek, the scene is wild, creative and peaceful. It is the perfect getaway for big groups, families, friends, corporate and more.
There are 18 beds in total: the Treehouse (Sleeps 2), Potting Shed (4), Hunting Lodge (Sleeps 2), Shepherd's Hut (Sleeps 2) and the Cottage (Sleeps 8). Our adventurous venue has a large fire pit, long outdoor feast table, hammock area overlooking the river, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen including clay pizza oven and gas hobs. There are two toilets, two hot outdoor showers, a washing up area, as well as a large versatile barn, with wood burner and indoor seating; perfect for parties, dining, reading and relaxing. All this plus acres of woodland to roam and wild swimming in the river. The Fal estuary is also the perfect spot for kayaking, canoeing or fishing if you have your own equipment, or subject to availability, we can contact local companies to take groups out on the river in Canadian Canoes or offer kayak hire direct from our creek.
The Roseland Peninsula is a beautiful, peaceful part of Cornwall. The King Harry Ferry (also known as the moving bridge) makes it extremely accessible to Truro and Falmouth. The Roseland hosts some of the best beaches on the south coast (Porthbeor, Towan, Porthcurnick and Pendower just to name a few). All great for swimming and beach days and all within 15 minutes drive from our venue. Local villages such as Portscatho and St Mawes provide convenience stores, pubs, restaurants and cafes as well as picturesque views of the coastline. Boat trips from St Mawes to Falmouth run daily and frequently all year round (except in very bad weather). The Fal river - where we are based - is one of the deepest natural harbours in the world. It boasts beautiful scenery and wildlife. We highly recommend including some time on the river during your stay.

A peaceful retreat deep in the countryside, but only 15 minutes from Falmouth and the coast, the ideal base for the best that Cornwall has to offer: sea sports, walking, music venues, creekside bars, great eateries. Then come home to a super king-size bed, a log fire, big sofa, big quiet luxury. Please note - we now have super fast broadband and re-charging facilities if you have an electric vehicle.
Owl House, Constantine was once the heavy horse stables in a courtyard of mid 19th century farm buildings. It is now our lovely, light guest accommodation, suitable for one or two in the super kingsize double bed. We also have a travel cot for babes in arms. Owl has a living room/kitchen with huge stone arched windows and a high ceiling. There is a woodburning stove, comfy seating and dining - and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher etc. The bedroom has a superking size bed, the bathroom a bath with overhead shower. The double doors from the bedroom lead out to a small private patio garden planted with herbs and lavender. Across the yard, there is a little laundry with washer and dryer, and the machines are exclusively for our guests' use. We supply cotton bedding, feather duvet, thick towels and a welcome tray which includes basics like tea, ground coffee, milk, eggs, bread, butter, cheese - and a few other treats. This is no longer a working farm, but you will have access to the field and wood which make up our holding. We live in the barns next to Owl - and also have our studios there. We are very happy to advise on activities, music venues, sports facilities, where to eat etc. Life drawing sessions may be running during your stay - and you would be welcome to come along and draw or paint, for a small fee. This is a quiet place, surrounded by trees, where at night you can see the stars and listen to the owls hoot. A footpath runs past the yard and into the village of Constantine, a walk of about 2.5 miles, over stiles and through bluebell woods. Constantine has a couple of grocery shops, including the very famous Constantine Stores with its amazing stock of spirits and wines. There is also a community centre with a theatre, music and film programme - and a cafe. The much valued Trengilly Wartha pub is on the other side of the village. We reckon we have the best of worlds - beautiful countryside, but in a quarter of an hour we can be in town or by the sea. There is no public transport nearby. Nearest buses in the village of Constantine. Nearest train station 5 miles away in Penryn or Falmouth.
We live in the countryside, but 2.5 miles away is the traditional Cornish village of Constantine with two pubs, general shops and the celebrated arts and museum venue, the Tolmen Centre.

Originally named Nankersey, meaning valley of the reed swamp, the village was given its name by Dutch engineers from Flushing in the Netherlands who built the three main quays in the village. The grand houses on St Peter's Hill, the road that leads into the village, were owned by captains of the packet ships (mail boats) that docked in nearby Falmouth. The Spanish Armada intended to land here in their attack on England but they were not able to capture it.Due to its position, Flushing is said to be one of the warmest villages in the United Kingdom. The beaches at Kiln are extremely popular in the summer months, offering superb views of Falmouth Docks, the Carrick Roads and St. Anthony's Head. There are two pubs, the Royal Standard on St Peter's Hill and the Seven Stars on Trefusis Road opposite Fish Cross. There is also a fish restaurant, formerly the Sticky Prawn, now the Quay Cafe located on Ferry Quay. Flushing Regatta Week is held annually during late July or early August, and features water-based activities such as bathtub racing, rowing, swimming and sailing races, sand-castle building contests, a mini-marathon through Mylor and Flushing, an open-air church service, a pub quiz, crab catching and a carnival on Saturday night, and has achieved marked popularity locally.Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of its unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors' lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day are truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. As a university town many events are arranged by the students including annual exhibitions of art and photographic work. There is a Sainsbury supermarket 2 minutes away by car and a large Asda 5 minutes away. The beaches at Gyllingvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots. You can ride the ferry to beautiful St Mawes for the day or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea! There are plenty of places to eat & drink in Falmouth and recently Rick Stein has opened his Fish & Chip Restaurant & Oyster Bar at Discovery Quay adding to the superb mix across the town.A short drive away is the Helford River. This delightful part of Cornwall includes places such as Mawnan Smith, Helford Passage, Constantine & Gweek. The area has many delights such as Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens, The Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, Goonhilly Earth and Satellite Station and The Ferry Boat Inn. Daphne du Maurier wrote her only romantic novel Frenchmans Creek about the River Helford, and who can blame her, the views really are beautiful. Glendurgan Gardens, run by the National Trust, hold a 176 year old laurel maze and the 'Giants Stride' swing is very popular with children. St Anthony-in-Meneage holds a lovely little church primarily of medieval architecture. Maenporth beach, tucked away on the westerly edge of Falmouth Bay and boasting spectacular views, is well worth a visit.

Flushing Regatta Week is held annually during late July or early August, and features water-based activities such as bathtub racing, rowing, swimming and sailing races, sand-castle building contests, a mini-marathon through Mylor and Flushing, an open-air church service, a pub quiz, crab catching and a carnival on Saturday night, and has achieved marked popularity locally.

Possessing probably the most astonishing view of any holiday home in Cornwall, this former meteorological observatory is a unique place to stay. Offering 360 degree views of Falmouth, the whole of the Fal estuary and across Falmouth Bay, you will be mesmerised both day and night. Presented to the highest standards, providing luxury accommodation, this is a very special place to stay.
Set on a hill, overlooking town, sea and river, The Observatory Tower occupies the highest point in Falmouth. It was built in 1868, as a meteorological observatory, where people could watch and identify incoming weather. Originally it had a parapet wall on top. Unfortunately The Tower went into disrepair over the years and was eventually sold at auction in 2009, when the new owners set about its complete renovation, restoring wherever possible. They were keen to keep the restoration as sympathetic to its heritage, while also updating it for the 21st century, to make it a luxurious and comfortable modern holiday home with every amenity you could possibly wish for. Located close to the heart of Falmouth, it is just a short 6 minute walk down the hill to the famous National Maritime Museum Cornwall as well as all the attractions, restaurants and pubs along Falmouth's historic waterfront. Highlights include Rick Stein's Fish & Chip shop and Oyster Bar. You could also enjoy a leisurely pint of local brew outside the Chain Locker pub overlooking the Custom's House Quay! If you fancy spending some time on the beach, the sand at Gyllyngvase is about a 12 minute walk away. Accommodation Ground Floor: A private bedroom, with 4'6" bed and TV, complete with ensuite wet-room & WC, is situated on the ground floor. There is a separate utility room which leads to a small external courtyard at the rear of the property. First floor: On the first floor is a flexible space used as a living room, but easily converted to a second bedroom when the wall bed (4'6") is pulled down. This allows up to 4 people to be comfortably accommodated. There is a separate bathroom with overhead shower & WC. Second floor: The kitchen on the second floor is both functional and interesting at the same time. The history of The Observatory Tower is depicted through photographs, plans and original weather reports, set behind a glass splashback. A bright and airy space, with rooftop views over Falmouth to north, south, east and west. Third floor: The main living room on the 3rd floor, with its large picture window overlooking Falmouth Bay, is a precursor to the top floor. Its funky sofa was specially designed to fit the space, with fabrics chosen to reflect the changes in the weather. Fourth floor: After scaling the 66 steps to the top, the observation deck on the 4th floor is what this building is all about. The 360 degree views are breathtaking and if you don't know what you are looking out at, the pelmet art above the windows will help you identify local landmarks. On this floor there is a wine fridge, a sink and facilities for making hot drinks which you can enjoy whilst taking in the wonderful views. Facilities & Services Heating is via under floor heating throughout the property. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a range of modern equipment. There is an electric oven & hob, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave & dishwasher. There is boiling water on tap in both the kitchen and observation deck. The separate utility room has a washer dryer. In the living room there is a large flatscreen digital TV & DVD player. There is also a TV in the master bedroom. There is WiFi available at the property. There is an iron & ironing board. Miscellaneous Electricity, heating, bed linen & towels are all included but you will need to provide your own beach towels. On street parking is available nearby. Regrettably no dogs are permitted. Strictly no smoking is allowed. Please note that due to the nature of the building, the property is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Please also note that there are many stairs in the property and some are a little narrow in places. General Booking Information Arrival / Departure is normally on a Friday. Short breaks are available during quieter periods. £200 pre-authorised to your credit or debit card as a security deposit is required.

A mecca for boating enthusiasts, St Mawes is a particularly popular sailing centre. Weekly club racing, village regattas and larger events are commonplace on the superb waters of the bay all through the summer. St Mawes has so much to offer the visitor. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax and watch the world go by. The little Place ferry takes visitors to explore St Anthony's Head or there are regular ferries to Falmouth. Being situated on the seafront, the village is also known for the restaurants and pubs that serve superb fish and shellfish dishes all year round. There is a selection of pubs & hotels with restaurants (including the renowned Hotel Tresanton) all within easy walking distance. There is a range of shops all within a few minutes’ walk including a Cooperative store, Post Office, chemist, butcher, baker and art & clothes shops. The village also has both a doctor’s and a dentist’s surgery. Events on the Roseland reach fever point in August when sailing regattas, carnivals, fayres and fun days take place all over the Roseland and the waters of the Carrick Roads. It is a memorable place for many people who return year after year to enjoy the magic of this beautiful place.

Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of its unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. These events are easily reached on foot as Royal Cornwall Yacht Club is 5 minutes down the road, Falmouth High Street is a 10 minute walk away and Events Square is about 15 minutes by foot.As a university town many events are arranged by the students including annual exhibitions of art and photographic work. There is a Sainsbury supermarket 2 minutes away by car and a large Asda 5 minutes away. The beaches at Gyllyngvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots.

Ospite davvero gentile, comunicazione semplice e check-in!

  • Mi è piaciuto molto questo alloggio. Tutti i comfort e ad alta specifica. Estremamente confortevole.

Posizione eccezionale e ottima accoglienza. Decorato molto bene e ho sentito i migliori odori di Air B&B. Letto molto comodo. Speriamo di poterci tornare di nuovo.

    Holly2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ottima posizione, posto incantevole in uno splendido giardino.

  • The Tiny House era perfetto per noi.

Falmouth is one of Cornwall's most popular places to visit because of it's unique mix of attractions, water sports, beaches, history and place to eat. The National Maritime Museum Cornwall and Pendennis Castle are both high on visitors lists of places to visit and the views from Pendennis on a fine day a truly magical. Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall with its spectacular deep water natural harbour offering a haven for both cruisers and racers. Many events are held through the summer culminating in the famous Falmouth Regatta Week and associated shore side events. You can enjoy the fireworks from your very own balcony! The beaches at Gyllyngvase & Swanpool are coarse sand and are wonderfully sunny south facing spots.
  • Siamo stati benissimo in casa numero 7. Abbiamo camminato molto e visitato Penryn, St Maves e Truro.

Ci tornerei sicuramente.

  • Spazio spazioso, moderno e stupendo sull'acqua.

Cosy cottage nestled right in the heart of Falmouth, with breathtaking views to Flushing, and only a two minute walk to all that Falmouth has to offer. Private garden overlooking the water, with 2 bedrooms, lounge, separate kitchen and bathroom.
Harbour Cottage is a cosy and quirky nineteenth century property, which has breathtaking views over the water, and benefits from an amazing location in the heart of Falmouth - literally a two-minute walk down into the town and all that it has to offer. It is a self-contained, semi-detached, two bedroom cottage, arranged over two floors. It boasts a fully-enclosed child friendly garden to the rear, looking out over the water. The cottage is accessed through a communal entrance hall which is shared with the adjoining cottage. This hallway gives access to Harbour Cottage's separate front door. The door leads into the kitchen/diner, which has a separate lounge leading off to the front, and a bathroom leading off to the rear. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the crockery/glassware/pots and pans etc that you'll need for your stay, and it also includes sink, oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment and washing machine. There are cabinets to store any food items, and a dining table positioned in front of the window so that you can while away the hours watching the boats come and go with a glass of wine in your hand :) There are four dining chairs around the table. The lounge has a comfortable leather two-seater sofa and a small fabric two-seater sofa. Please do note though, that although there is lounge seating, dining room seating, and beds for four, it is all squeezed into a small space. A previous review mentions that it is smaller than the photos make it look, but they are honest photos of a gorgeous, stunningly located but petite cottage. My children love staying there with my husband and I, and we have never found the space to be cramped, but just to reiterate, do be aware that the cottage is, as any good estate agent would describe it, 'bijou'. I would hate for anyone to ever be disappointed! :) The bathroom is to the rear of the property and includes a bath with shower over, a basin and a toilet. 'Small but perfectly formed' would be my best description of this room. Again. It is small, so please don’t be disappointed by its delicate proportions. Maybe think of your break as like a stay on a lovely yacht ;) The back garden is accessed from a small hallway to the rear of the kitchen. The garden is fully enclosed and so is safe for little ones. The back garden includes a sandstone patio and bench by the house, perfect for reading the morning paper with a coffee in the sun (when it shines - if I could guarantee the sun, I think we'd all be very happy...). There is also a garden table and four chairs at the bottom of the lawn, with a barbecue stand available to place a disposable BBQ on. A steep and narrow staircase leads up from the kitchen to two double bedrooms. The first double is at the rear of the cottage and has frankly breathtaking panoramic water views. It includes a double bed, wardrobe, drawers and a dressing table and chair. The second twin bedroom at the front is home to a pair of single beds with fabric headboards. There is also a double wardrobe and bedside drawers. There is no private parking at the property, but free and safe on road parking is usually readily available (it’s a lovely residential neighbourhood). Even in the height of the summer season, guests have rarely experienced any problems finding a space within a hundred yards. There are a couple of spaces directly in front of the cottage where you can park to load/unload shopping, luggage etc, but you can't leave your car here without risking a ticket :( Maybe the best plan is to park up for the duration, then enjoy the area on foot/by ferry/bus/train so you can enjoy a glass or two of something too :)) All in all, it is a fantastic and homely little cottage, and in fact many guests have described it over the years as a 'home away from home'. Come and give it a try, you will always be welcome.
Falmouth is truly fab! It is the sailing capital of Cornwall, and is renowned for being the third deepest natural port in the world. Visitors will find the town teeming with coastal treasures, ranging from fish restaurants, lively bars, quirky cafes, amazing independent shops and galleries, to gorgeous beaches and walks. There are boat trips aplenty, you can visit the highly regarded National Maritime Museum, Cornwall or see Pendennis Castle. The castle, built in the 16th Century, sits high above the harbour with truly magical panoramic views across the bay. You can ride one of the Fal River Link Ferries to the beautiful St Mawes and visit Henry VIII's sister castle or take a delightful trip around the estuary stopping off at either Trelissick Gardens or Smugglers Cottage for a cream tea. There is SO much to see and do that I could go on for hours! If you're after somewhere to eat/drink, here are some places I'd be very happy to recommend. There is a glorious restaurant called the Star and Garter just down the road for a really standout meal (on the more expensive side though). There is a pub next-door-but-one called The Boathouse which does great food and ales and will offer guests 10% off their food bill. There is a great atmosphere here and beautiful views, and it is a favoured spot with both locals and tourists. A short way across town, the Gyllyngvase Beach Cafe is another must-visit destination, with fab food and a superb location right on the beach. Watch out for their live music events and the Sunday 'Roast on the Coast'. For seafood lovers, The Wheelhouse needs to be on your list, but be sure to be quick and book ahead, they book out quickly. Try Beerwolf in town for a pub with a difference - there is a book shop on site where you can sup your pint and read at the same. Heaven. Another great restaurant with magnificent food and views to match, but on the pricier side, is The Cove, just a short drive away in Maenporth. For those with pets, the pub Five Degrees West welcomes your four legged friends and provides good food. Two great cafes centrally located on 'The Moor' are Espressini (the best coffee and breakfast anywhere I swear, try the Kedgeree) and Good Vibes a few doors down. If Rick Steins is your thing, try their fish and oyster restaurant at Events Square. Harbour Lights is another fantastic fish and chip restaurant in town with lovely decor, great touches for little ones like fish and chips in a bucket that kids can keep, and reasonable prices. If you fancy a coffee in a lovely hotel, try the Greenbank down on the water (you can see it from the bedroom window). As a location, it would be very hard to beat, and they are very welcoming to boot. Try if you can to make your stay co-incide with one of Falmouth's fantastic annual events. Falmouth Regatta Week in August is the town's major event both on and off the water. Fireworks and the recent addition of the Red Arrows provide a spectacular back drop for some high class yacht racing. Later in the year the Oyster Festival shows off the rivers heritage to the full. The beer festival and the Sea Shanty festival are two more great local occasions. What more can I say? The place is fab! Book your time off and come to visit our beautiful county as soon as you can :)
