Norfolk Coast: The village is perfectly placed for the North Norfolk Coast and its long, fine sandy beaches. Brancaster and Thornham are closest but Holkham and Wells are also worth a look. Be sure to visit Wells-next-the-Sea, a delightful unspoilt historic town on the North Norfolk Coast with a jumble of old buildings and lanes still existing from its heritage as a port and former maltings industry. The picturesque quay and waterfront is still very much a working port with stalls selling local shrimps and crabs Docking: All roads in North Norfolk seem to lead to Docking. It's a busy working village with an excellent small supermarket and post office, a fish and chip shop, blacksmith, village pub, a large village playing field, tennis court and bowling green. Docking also has its own coarse fishing lake that is available on a day ticket basis. Stately homes: If you fancy a bit of culture North Norfolk has some beautiful stately homes, most of which open their doors and gardens to the public. Holkham Hall, built between 1734 and 1764 by Thomas Coke, the 1st Earl of Leicester. This elegant Palladian style mansion, which reflects the first Earl's natural appreciation of classical art, was described by Pevsner as “the most classically correct house in Britain". Beaches: This stretch of coast has more than its fair share of beautiful beaches and they are some of the cleanest in Europe. Wells Beach is a beautiful sandy beach edged by pine woods. Holkham Beach on the Holkham Hall estate is equally stunning (The all day parking ticket is transferrable to Beach Road car park, Wells-next-the-Sea). The Victoria Hotel is opposite the beach car park entrance. Winner of Coast Magazine's Best British Beach Award 2011. Eating and Drinking: North Norfolk has some excellent places to eat along the coast and a little bit inland. From Michelin Star Restaurants to fabulous fry ups in a seaside cafe. Good, wholesome food is available including of course locally caught fish and Cromer Crabs. Eating out can range from cosy pubs to end a long and windswept walk on one of the glorious beaches through to fantastic gourmet restaurants to celebrate a special occasion. Walking and Cycling: Norfolk can boast coast, country, fen and forest walking — we can offer you pretty much everything here! Pull on your walking boots and get out to explore. Enjoy tramping through golden leaves and russet woodlands in the autumn, or take a brisk walk past crisp hedgerows in the crackling frosty winter. Spring and summer are spectacular with colourful wild flowers and sandy beaches. Wildlife: Large numbers of ducks and geese winter in North Norfolk and most of these species can be seen on the lagoons at nearby Titchwell Reserve. The commonest species are teal, wigeon, mallard, gadwall and shoveler, with smaller numbers of pintails and goldeneyes. In the evenings, thousands of pink-footed geese can be seen flying in formations to their roost sites along the coast.

Consiglierei sicuramente.

Brancaster StaitheA bustling village with an attractive harbour which is just to the east of Brancaster (staithe means wharf, or landing stage). There is a well-supported sailing club here and in the summer at high tide there's always a crowd of people and boats jostling to get onto the water. The sea still gives a living to many in the area though and Brancaster Staithe is famed for its mussels, which may be bought locally at The Fish Shed or directly from Mervyn's Mussels along the coast road. From the harbour you can take a short ferry trip (at high tide) to Scolt Head Island, a four mile long sand bar housing a National Nature Reserve well-known for terns, oystercatchers, and ringed plovers. The village is a picturesque one, with typical flint walling on many cottages, and popular with second home owners and holiday makers. There is good beer and food available throughout the day at the Jolly Sailor's pub, or for more of a treat with stunning views and delicious food there's the White Horse overlooking the marshes.Next to Brancaster Staithe is Burnham Deepdale which has a Norman church, a visitors centre and a good selection of shops, including a small supermarket, petrol station, Fat Face and Gone Crabbing. After a brisk walk on the beach or an invigorating sail there's nothing better than a trip to the increasingly popular Deepdale Café, renowned for its hearty English breakfasts.

Apricot Cottage is a beautifully presented spacious Grade II listed property. It has been stylishly refurbished resulting in a cool, contemporary holiday home for 6 - 8 people. 10 - 12 can be accommodated in conjunction with the adjacent property, the Old Hardware. This is a perfect place to stay in the heart of the working village of Docking, close to Burnham Market and within a 10 minute drive of the beautiful North Norfolk coast, with its miles of wide sandy beaches. This uniquely designed house is a super place for families with a fabulous kitchen and living and dining rooms both with wood burner stoves. There is another large downstairs room which can be used as 2nd living room or made up as a 4th bedroom. Upstairs is a gorgeous master bedroom - a lovely high-ceiling room with many original features. Two other bedrooms are available, one double and one with twin beds. A welcome bottle of wine is provided upon arrival.
This elegant Palladian style mansion, which reflects the first Earl’s natural appreciation of classical art, was described by Pevsner as “the most classically correct house in Britain”. Winner of Coast Magazine’s Best British Beach Award 2011.

The Potting Shed is built into the walled garden of the Fring Estate. It offers a couple the perfect getaway with a terrace in both sides getting morning and afternoon sun. The property has recently been converted and has a king bed with wet room and a kitchen living space. The afternoon terrace has an outside bath over looking the park of Fring Hall and the evening sunset. It is a magical retreat for couples to enjoy, walks through the park to the sunset mound for the last light are unmissable.
Fring is a small village just tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the coast. The famous Pedders way runs through the estate and all the way to the coast running past pubs and through open fields which makes a lovely day out. There are numerous footpaths to explore and bikes can be rented to go further afield. My Favorite Places I really recommend heading to the beaches and the coastal pubs – there are lots of them and they are really all within 15 mins drive. Loads of swanky pubs and amazing food – just driving along the coast road is a great way to find them and see the beaches etc… (5 miles )Brancaster Beach for long walks, also two great pubs - Jolly Sailors and White Horse in Brancaster Staithe. (8 miles) Holkham Beach for beauty, Also an amazing pub (The Victoria) along with Holkham Hall which is a Palladian Mansion. (6 miles)Burnham market – beautiful market town with Shops and a great pub – The Hoste. (4 miles) Pub; The Duck at Stanhoe – some of the best food in Norfolk but more a restaurant than pub. (3 miles) Pub; The Rose and Crown in Snettisham – UK pub of the year 2015 and my closest. There is also a nice walk around there if you want – type in Snettisham walks and you will find a map. (4 miles) Pub: The Gin Trap in Ringsted. This can be reached on foot along Pedders Way and is approximately 4 miles. Other wild beaches – Thornham + great pub the Orange Tree Holme beach Old Hunstanton Beach. Nearest shop: The Spar in Docking – open 6am-10pm everyday and can get you all your basics. The CO-OP in Snettisham. Supermarkets – Hunstanton Tescos or Dersingham CO-OP. Local country store – Bircham Country Stores (check if open)
