“Enter our 1940’s building and you will be greeted by a warm interior full of large exposed timbers. Hang out at the 100-year-old antique bar, or relax in a more intimate area of the main floor, which features a real wood burning fireplace. Enjoy our street side patio or our rooftop deck! “Go to Cowichan Bay for a beautiful stroll along the Government Wharf. Early morning (before they sell out of my favorite) or later in the evening as the sunsets are magnificent. This is a quaint seaside village looking across to Salt Spring Island. Don't miss True Grain Bakery for a morning coffee and flaky almond croissant, my personal favorite. True Grain makes all its breads from Canadian Grain, what a commitment. Bruce is truely a local buisinessman and craftsman worth supporting. Remember to bring a baguette or local pasta home for supper. ”

“Fantastic French bakery on a vineyard. Weekends only during the summer and into fall. Very popular with the locals and visitors. My favourite is the lemon tarts amongst many sweet and savoury foods. Enjoy the lovely patio in the summer overlooking the vineyard. This is a family run business and is very busy so plan to go early if possible to get a table. ”

Caffè
“If your visiting Canada you must stop in here. Tim Hortons is the place we Canadians do for a good cup of joe (coffee) ask for a double double (our way of saying 2 cream, 2 sugar). This is also the spot to fill your sweet tooth with their donuts.”
