Rustic ranch lodge surrounded by over 100 acres of private wooded land, approximately 30 minutes from PSU. Sleeps 6 comfortably with a full bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, wood burning stove and outdoor patio. There are numerous hiking/atv/horse trails throughout the property. Perfect place to get in touch with nature for a family get away or PSU football game!
This is a large converted barn/garage so the space is plenty, but it is an “Open Floor Plan” and you are always together. The sleeping quarters are to the back of the lodge, and while there are privacy screens between the Queen bed and Full/Twin bunk beds, you are still in the same room. The bathroom is a separate room that has a full-sized shower, washer & dryer and has electric heat for the cold months. Towels, soap, shampoo and linens will all be provided.
There is a full size kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, double sink, stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and cabinets with plates/glasses/silverware/utensils. Off the front and back of the lodge there are two large patios that are perfect for a BBQ on our grill or unwinding after a long day around the fire pit looking at the stars.
The floors are concrete so in the winter months, having a nice pair of slippers is recommended when walking for those areas that do not have rugs. The lodge stays very cool and pleasant in the summer months, but there are two large electric garage doors on either side which can be opened to allow a nice breeze to blow through or also provide a great view of the ranch and the night sky to fall asleep to.
There are horse stables on the property for those who wish to bring their horses and trailers with them to ride for an additional fee. Please contact host prior to booking for further details and assure availability.
Other things to note
The lodge can accommodate more then 10, but there is only 1 Queen size bed, 1 Full size bed, 1 Twin size bed (a bunk bed above the Full size), and one pull out couch. We have an additional roll away twin bed and two additional queen size air mattresses, but guests would need to notify host in advance if they would wish to have any of those available during their stay. Additional sleeping mattresses/cots/etc. would need to be provided by guests.
The driveway to the lodge is gravel and well maintained, so in good weather all vehicles can access but in the winter and poor conditions, good winter tires and all-wheel drive vehicles are helpful.
There is no Wifi and cell phone coverage is minimal, if not non-existent, depending on your carrier. However, if you do take a quick hike, the higher up you go the more reception improves and at the top of the property all most all are able to get cell service.
