Lo spazio
Tibet Garden is a peaceful haven located in a small traditional village just outside of Ubud town center. Please note the house is NOT located in Ubud town center, but a short vehicle ride outside (7 minutes on average or 3.5km straight up the road from Ubud Palace). The surrounding area is awash in lush green rice fields, patches of living jungle, and Balinese temples that come alive with vibrant color, hypnotic sounds and magical spirit during festival times. You will be greeted each morning in the garden by butterflies sipping nectar from colorful flowers, birds and their beautiful songs, chickens playing and sunbathing, and a general sense of village tranquility. It is a perfect, quiet place for yoga, meditation, reading, writing, etc..

The house itself is decorated in mixed Balinese architectural elements and Tibetan style decor - it has one large main room with comfy bed and couch, a small side "alcove with a view" with extra bed looking out over the rice paddies, semi-open air natural stone and marble bathroom with hot water shower and a small fish pool, as well as fully equipped kitchen. Staying at Tibet Garden includes semi daily cleaning by a friendly Balinese woman who lives nearby (Ibu Kadek) - and possible delicious Indonesian home cooking by request (for a small fee). Linens are provided, as well as 47" flat screen TV with Indovision international satellite channels, Wi-Fi (high speed - Fiber Optic), drinking water, cooking basics, garage space for parking motorbikes are all included. Roof top chill out spot/yoga space with amazing star gazing or paddy field views as well. You are in walking distance from several small "warung" with Balinese villagers serving local foods and drinks, a small convenience shop open until 9pm, several small spas for massage, a few local Balinese restaurants with tasty foods (Vinaka is the best), as well as the famous Pyramids of Chi (10 minutes or so walk) for a unique sound meditation experience, plus delicious healthy restaurant. But to go further afield we still recommend to rent a motorbike (Ibu Kadek can provide it) or we can assist with a local driver for day trips. We can also help you get reasonably priced tickets for Gili Islands boats. Just inquire :)

Altre cose da tenere a mente
Please note this is not a party house! This is a place to get closer to and be inspired by Balinese nature and culture. It is for relaxation and romance. You are free to do all as you like, but please respect the local villagers and neighbors with appropriate behavior.

Ubud, Indonesia

Tibet Garden is not in Ubud town center, but located just outside central Ubud (3 kilometers to the North) in the small hamlet of Bentuyung Shakti (the same village as where Eat, Pray, Love movie was filmed). It is a very quiet and private setting, with big and lush garden, and surrounded by nature (jungle, rice fields, small river) and traditional village life that will seem a world away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud town center. The house is situated down a small path away from the road and you will hear the bird songs, roosters, and crickets much more than any traffic or motorbikes!

Within walking distance of the house there is laundry, several small restaurants, and a convenience shop. You are just a 10 plus minutes walk to the Pyramids of Chi, an amazing sound meditation spot and delicious healthy restaurant. Every Sunday night you can see a wonderful dance performance of the unique Jegog Bamboo Gamelan being performed in the local temple just a short walk up the road (ask Ibu Kadek for slightly discounted tickets to the performance, very unique!). You are also most welcome to join in the village ceremonies (if you are lucky enough to be here on an auspicious day - not every day but they do happen quite often and you are guaranteed to experience it on every full moon!).

If you would like to attend a ceremony or just get involved with Balinese daily life you can tell Ibu Kadek and rent from her the Balinese traditional dress, or buy your own in town to wear. I can also advise you on great eating places in the Ubud area (Ibu Kadek also cooks great Balinese food to serve at the house for a small fee), walks through the countryside, nearby waterfalls and sacred places, local bird life which you can see in the garden (I'm a bird watcher as my hobby), and other traditional dances.

Hello and welcome to all those planning a trip to this beautiful village of Ubud. I have been living here already 10 years, and in that time I have also traveled extensively around the world. But I can honestly say that "home sweet home" is right here, surrounded by nature, art, and culture, on the island of Bali. And there is no better place to experience all this than right in the heartland of Ubud. My life here is basically all about arts, culture, and nature. I enjoy taking part in many Balinese cultural ceremonies, and if you come and stay here you will be most welcome too, with traditional clothing to wear available to you. My house is close to the people in the village, but also in a very private setting with only jungle, rice paddy, garden around you. It's a simple and beautiful life. If you come and stay at my place, I will also be happy to tell you all the good info about places to see around the island, amazing and delicious foods to eat, and whatever other insider knowledge I can offer to you. I love nature activities such as bird watching and exploring the undersea world, and I can let you know the best spots. But it may well be that you never want to leave the house because it is just so peaceful and delightful in these natural surroundings. Looking forward to welcome you.

Durante il tuo soggiorno
This is my personal home in Bali for the last decade, so I usually live in the house myself. Therefore when it is available for renting this most likely means I am traveling at that time in far away lands, or at the very least in another part of Bali. I am accessible by email and WA most of the time, and Ibu Kadek lives just nearby and can help you with some assistance should you need it. That being said, this is a private house and not a hotel, so keep that in mind that there is some level of independence required to stay here.
