Lo spazio
Nestled in the treetops of the African bush with magical views over Marloth Park and Kruger National Park and the distant mountain ranges, this lodge is certain to provide an unforgettable experience. Majuli Tree Lodge is a newly refurbished two-bedroom cottage on a raised deck built around a living tree. Come eye to eye with a giraffe while sipping morning coffee or a well-deserved sundowner while experiencing the magic as the African sunsets directly in front of you.

Positioned in the bush only minutes' walk away from the famous Crocodile River and Kruger National Park, you can while away the day listening to the grunting hippo and lamenting cry of the fish eagle which are recognized as the real sounds of Africa. Wildlife is never far away and in the garden expect visits from zebra, warthog, kudu and the resident duiker, and become friends with giraffe feeding off the tree.

Then as night sets in, experience the thrill as the big boys take over and relax in bed listening to the roar of the lion and the whoop of the hyena. If wildlife is your thing, this lodge is without doubt the place to be.

If you want to learn the secret of where South African's holiday and experience an inexpensive but real safari experience then Majuli Tree Lodge is the ideal place. We hope we cover everything below but please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have or if we can offer advice on your safari experience.

The House
You rent the entire house to yourselves. You will never have to share. It is located on a raised hill with commanding views over the tree tops and into Kruger Park directly in front of you. You are surrounded by bush so expect regular visits in the garden too. Zebra, kudu and giraffe are common visitors. Close to the Crocodile River a great thing is to drive along it and see what is out and about. There is a fence separating you from the Big Game so it means you can get to see and photograph animals like elephant close up but still in a safe environment.

It has two air conditioned bedrooms with a double bed in one and two singles in the other. There is a bathroom with one shower. There is an indoor lounge area and fully kitted out kitchen with everything you need (oven, hob, fridge freezer, coffee machine, kettle, plates, pots, cutlery) for self catering.

A trip to South Africa is not complete without a bush braai and we have a fully lit pit outside with all the utensils needed for a memorable barbeque in the African bush. Or if it gets hot why not jump into our splash pool to cool down.

The best part of the house is the large secure decking area upstairs. This has great views and is probably where you will spend all your time. It is accessed through the doors in the living room. Being raised has another important benefit. I remember being nervous my first time in the bush, especially at night, but being on the deck allows you to experience all the bush has to offer without the feeling of being too exposed out in the open.

Our manager, Maritza, is a local from the bush and a real star. She lives very close by and is only a phone call away. She can book guided tours, replace bedding and towels, offer any advice about the park or just answer any questions you may have. She is there to help so if you have any problems or you need anything, just give her a call.

The house is fully alarmed and linked to a 24 hour security company in the park for added confidence.

Marloth Park
Marloth Park is a unique place in South Africa. It’s a 1500 hectare residential wildlife conservancy in natural bush right on the doorstep of Kruger with its own wildlife population, including zebras, impala, kudu, wildebeest, giraffes, warthogs, and several other species. It has two small shopping centres for food and other provisions off-licence, and a fuel station. There’s also three excellent pubs, each with family style restaurants where you can eat or drink and talk to the locals. Marloth also has a municipal area with a large public swimming pool that’s great for kids and adults alike.

Kruger Park
Marloth Park adjoins Kruger Park but we are only a 20 minute drive to the Crocodile Bridge Gate which is the very best region of Kruger for both variety of animal species and for density of game. The road from Crocodile Bridge Gate to Lower Sabie Rest Camp is famous and you could easily see the Big 5 on this road alone.

The two main ways people visit Kruger from Majuli Tree Lodge.
• You can self-drive inside Kruger in your own car. A standard rental car is fine.
• You can be picked up right from the house in an open safari vehicle by a fully-accredited and experienced Kruger guide. We can arrange this when you arrive or in advance of your visit.

Other activities in the area
• Tiger fishing
• Elephant back safari
• Horseback safari
• Quad biking
• Spa treatments in Marloth Park
• Golf
• Mountain biking

Accesso per gli ospiti
The lodge is entirely private and self-contained; guests do not share any facilities. It's yours alone, including the adjoining bush. You can then explore Marloth Park at your leisure or let us arrange a guided tour for you.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
Although in the African bush, Marloth has safe game so there is nothing to worry about with regard to dangerous animals. We have plenty of experience in dealing with guests who are both new to the bush or experienced bush whackers so let us look after you and let our tree house captivate you.

I am passionate about safari. It was always a dream of mine to experience the African bush and I was very lucky to be able to buy a plot of land when visiting there one year. Not just any plot of land but one of the only ones in the park with amazing views directly on the river overlooking Kruger Park in a great private safari park called Marloth Park. I also built a tree house on another plot again with great views. I try to visit as often as I can and when I can't I rent it out and share it with people. I have made so many friends booking the house and now half of guests are returning visitors. I look forward to connecting with people looking to go on safari and live in the bush like the locals so please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions.
