Hike, bike, fish, hunt, snowboard, snowshoe, or just relax in our cozy guesthouse on the base of Mount Haggin.

Explore our property on our backyard trails to our rushing creek and our scenic rock bluff. Enjoy breathtaking views from the front porch and living room.

Mt Haggin Wildlife Management Area is directly across the highway. Moose, foxes, bears, and snowshoe hares are known to visit our property while passing through to the beaver ponds, so don't forget your binoculars!

Lo spazio
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE BOOKING:

We are at an elevation of 6,300 feet, and completely off-grid, meaning we rely entirely on solar power and propane generators.  With this, we ask you to be conscientious of your electricity usage. Our house functions like an ordinary "on-grid" house, so it can be easy to forget you're off grid.  What this means for you is that we ask you to please turn off the lights/electronics when you are finished.

We are nestled back off the road up a long and fairly steep driveway for ultimate privacy. The living area of the house sits on top of the garage, so you will need to climb one flight of stairs to enter the living area. It has 2 spacious bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full size kitchen, and a living room with large windows and a gas fireplace..perfect for that evening glass of wine.

Please remember you are in rural Montana and put safety first. This area does have mountain lions, bears, elk, moose, foxes, and wolves. Please keep your distance from them and be prepared in case of an encounter. We recommend keeping bear spray with you, and keeping your dogs nearby.

We have the best internet available (thank you, SpaceX) in our remote location, but please remember where you are, and be patient if the connection drops intermittently. We have been incredibly pleased with the speed and reliability with our Starlink internet - We get about 50 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up. Every so often the connection will drop for a few seconds, but that happens much less often now that SpaceX is out of their Beta program. Let me know if you have any other internet specific questions before booking.

Let us know if there is anything you're looking for, and we can give you recommendations! We are avid mountain bikers, trail runners, backpackers, and will be happy to talk all things trail with you.

IMPORTANT ROAD INFO:
You do not need a high clearance vehicle, but we don’t recommend towing a trailer up the driveway unless you have a powerful truck. (We have successfully towed many things up the hill, but it is steep and there are a couple sharp turns).

In winter weather months, November - April, you will need a four wheel drive vehicle with chains or traction tires to handle the road and driveway. Our road is privately maintained so it does not get plowed immediately after a snowfall.

If you have any other questions about our road, feel to message us before booking. We can also discuss potentially shuttling you up from the base of the road.

ARE WE A GOOD FIT?
We absolutely love hosting guests & really enjoy sharing our property and town with the wonderful people who visit. But before you book, we want to make sure it's a good fit. We are about 2 miles up a steep and dirt road, in a remote location, and are completely off grid. So, if you're wanting something more walkable, this probably isn't the best fit -- unless walkable to you means hiking :D

Being off grid is awesome, because it allows us to live so remotely, but it also means there is a higher chance something will malfunction. We don't anticipate any problems, as our house functions well, but I wanted to be transparent that it is a possibility. On the off-chance something isn't working properly, we can pop down and work on it.

In the winter months, the house typically stays around 65-70 degrees. We have a gas stove which heats the house and ceiling fans to help distribute the hot air around the unit.

In the summer months, the house can get warm, but if you open some windows and use the fan, you'll stay plenty cool. We do not have AC.

If all that sounds good to you, we would love to have you stay with us.

Durante il tuo soggiorno

You will have the entire house to yourselves, but no access to the garage.

We live full time in a cabin a little further up the driveway, but the cabin is not visible from the guesthouse - though we will share the driveway. We are happy to show you around, or give you complete privacy - up to you.

If you would like to purchase farm fresh eggs from us, let us know! They are $5/dozen.  We are happy to prepare any meals for you while you're staying in the guesthouse - just let us know if this is something you are interested in and we can go over pricing/availability.
